Lars Nyberg

Lars Gunnar Nyberg (born 7 December 1951) is a Swedish businessman. He was the CEO of NCR Corporation from 1995 through 2003, as well as the CEO of TeliaSonera from 2007 to 1 February 2013.

Business

Prior to joining NCR, Nyberg was with Philips Electronics NV for 20 years in a number of senior positions. Most recently, he was chairman and CEO of Philips' Communications Systems Division. Nyberg also serves on the boards of directors of The Sandvik Group in Sweden and Wisconsin-based Snap-on Incorporated. In July 2007 he was appointed to CEO of TeliaSonera. [1]

Telegrafverket in 1903, the prefix Kungl. was dropped in 1946 and the name was further modernised to Televerket in 1953. Televerket continued on with its telecommunications monopoly until corporatisation in 1993, when it was renamed Telia, now part of Telia Company.

Matti Makkonen was a Finnish engineer in the field of mobile communications. He was employed by Nokia Networks and the then Telecom Finland, as well as Finnet Oy. Makkonen played a leading role in creating the mobile communication unit of what is today TeliaSonera. In 2008, Makkonen was awarded The Economist Innovation Award in the computing and telecommunications category for his work on text messaging (SMS).

Tomas Bertelman, is a Swedish diplomat and the former Ambassador of Sweden to Russia, presenting his credentials to Russian President Dmitry Medvedev on 16 January 2009. He has previously also been ambassador in Madrid, Riga and Warsaw as well as Consul General in the then Leningrad. Mr Bertelman has also been Secretary of the Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee.
