The 1984 Winter Olympics, officially known as the XIV Olympic Winter Games and commonly known as Sarajevo '84, was a winter multi-sport event held between 8 and 19 February 1984 in Sarajevo, Yugoslavia. It was the first Winter Olympic Games held in a Slavic language-speaking country, as well as the only Winter Olympics held in a communist country before the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, China. It was the second consecutive Olympic Games to be so held, after the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow, Soviet Union.

The 1962 World Rowing Championships were the inaugural world championships in rowing. The competition was held in September 1962 on the Rotsee in Lucerne, Switzerland. Rowers from West Germany dominated the competition, winning five of the seven boat classes.

The men's flyweight event was part of the boxing programme at the 1984 Summer Olympics. The weight class allowed boxers of up to 51 kilograms to compete. The competition was held from 31 July to 11 August 1984. 31 boxers from 31 nations competed.
Alexander González Laureano is a Puerto Rican boxer. He competed in the men's light heavyweight event at the 1992 Summer Olympics.
