Left Democratic Alliance is an alliance of six political parties flagging the left-wing political ideology of Bangladesh. Out of these six parties, two parties - CPB and SPB (Basad) are registered by Bangladesh Election Commission. The remaining four parties are not registered.

Formation

On July 18, 2018, the formation of this alliance was announced in a press conference at the temporary office of the alliance at Mukti Bhaban in Paltan of the capital. [1] At the time of its formation, the coalition consisted of eight parties. Subsequently, on 24 May 2022, the membership of the Ganosamhati Andolan and Revolutionary Workers Party was suspended. [2]

Democratic Left Front was formed around 2013. In continuation of that front, this alliance was newly formed in 2018.

The alliance was formed by eight left-wing parties [3] and currently consists of six.

The Nationalist Democratic Movement (NDM) is a political party in Bangladesh. It was officially launched on 24 April 2017. It identifies as centrist. The party has got registration from the Election Commission of Bangladesh. The symbol of the party is Lion.

Anarchism in Bangladesh has its roots in the ideas of the Bengali Renaissance and began to take influence as part of the revolutionary movement for Indian independence in Bengal. After a series of defeats of the revolutionary movement and the rise of state socialist ideas within the Bengali left-wing, anarchism went into a period of remission. This lasted until the 1990s, when anarchism again began to reemerge after the fracturing of the Communist Party of Bangladesh, which led to the rise of anarcho-syndicalism among the Bangladeshi workers' movement.

Ganatantra Manch is a political alliance consisting of six political parties in Bangladesh. The parties are: JSD, Nagrik Oikya, Revolutionary Workers Party, Bhasani Anusari Parishad, Rastro songskar andolon and Ganosamhati Andolan. The Gana Odhikar Parishad was initially with the alliance, but in May 2023 they pulled out of the alliance. Among them, except JSD and Revolutionary Workers Party, other parties are not registered with the Election Commission.
