Les' Copaque Production Sdn Bhd is a 3-dimensional animation creation organization with MSC status based in Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia. Les Copaque not only works in the field of animation but even becomes a full-fledged production organization which also involves idea submission, sound recordings and post-publishing that are included with the animation work.

History

Les' Copaque was founded by Haji Burhanuddin Md Radzi and Hajah Ainon Ariff as publishers. They named their studio for a Malay language network "last kopek" which means "last chance" and changed the spelling to look like French. Les Copaque's logo is a little frog named Si Polan. This symbol was born from the Malay proverb like a frog under a shell, which means someone with broad insight, ignorance, and a person whose vision is not broad, the breadth is like a shell.

The Polan, however he sits on top of the coconut shell, which means the desire to dream big and their ability to think outside the box Their first animated film project entitled Misi Mustahak which was made under the auspices of the two founders as a nomination by their institution, MMU, then won four awards in 2005: Best Work ("Best of the 10th MVA 2005") and Gold Medalist Film Short Animation (Open) at the 10th Anugerah Video Malaysia (MVA); Tertiary Student Projects (Creative Multimedia) at MSC-APICTA 2005; and Best of Multimedia University Collection 2005 at Creative Pixels, State Art Gallery. Khidmat Les' Copaque was assigned to create a mobile public order as well as a GT Jepun commercial in 2006.The organization also stepped into making the short fictional animation Geng: the Beginning at the wish of Mohd Anas Abdul Aziz who had won the overall title, best animated film. and best animation maker at the 2006 Short Film Award; In 2007, Les' Copaque introduced Malaysia's famous animated character, Upin & Ipin, to welcome Ramadan and Eid, while working on the film Geng: Pengembaraan Bermula which also featured the twins. The film Gang finally came out on February 12, 2009.

and succeeded in earning an income from the cinema of around RM 6.3 million, making it among the Malaysian films that achieved the highest citation in history. Nizam and Safwan who created the characters Upin and Ipin have left Les' Copaque and have opened a new animation company called Animonsta Studios where they are working on a new animation called BoBoiBoy. Even so, Les' Copaque still publishes the animated series Upin & Ipin .

The Ottawa International Animation Festival is an annual animated film and media festival that takes place in Ottawa, Canada. The OIAF was founded in 1975, with the first festival held from August 10 to 15 in 1976. Initially organized by the Canadian Film Institute on a biennial basis and with the co-operation of the International Animated Film Association, the Festival organization now remains in the hands of the CFI. It moved from a biennial to an annual festival in 2005. Geng: The Adventure Begins is a 2009 Malaysian 3D computer animated film. The film is produced by Les' Copaque and released in Malaysian cinemas beginning 12 February 2009. Geng was launched in a ceremony held on 11 September 2007 together with short animated series Upin & Ipin that have connections with the film. Planning for the film began in late-2005 as Les Copaque commenced operations. It received financial support from ICT-related agencies such as Multimedia Development Corporation and MIMOS.

Upin & Ipin is a 2007 Malaysian television series of animated shorts produced by Les' Copaque Production, which features the life and adventures of the eponymous twin brothers in a fictional Malaysian. Originally a side project for the blockbuster animated film Geng: The Adventure Begins, Upin & Ipin was introduced on TV9 in Malaysia and MNCTV in Indonesia on 13 September 2007 as a six episode Ramadan/Hari Raya Aidilfitri special, to teach children the significance of the Islamic holy month. As of 2014, the series has reached its eighth season, including another Ramadan special season in 2008, and, season three onwards, the year-long, more general themed Upinipin and Friends, the series' international debut via the Disney Channel Asia, with more concentrating on telling the lives of The Twins with their friends on the normal days. Upin & Ipin is currently the longest-running Malaysian animated series, currently in its 13th year of producing new episodes. And has a 5.5 iMDb star.

Ram Mohan was an Indian animator, title designer and design educator, who was also known as father of Indian Animation and was a veteran in the Indian animation industry, who started his career at the Cartoon Films Unit, Films Division of India, Government of India in 1956. He was chairman and chief creative officer at Graphiti Multimedia, a Mumbai-based animation company which was established in 1995, and later he also established the Graphiti School of Animation in 2006.

<i>Kampung Boy</i> (TV series) Malaysian animated television series

Kampung Boy is a Malaysian animated television series first broadcast in 1997. It is about the adventures of a young boy, Mat, and his life in a kampung (village). The series is adapted from the best-selling graphical novel The Kampung Boy, an autobiography of local cartoonist Lat. Comprising two seasons and 26 episodes—one of which won an Annecy Award—the series was first shown on Malaysian satellite television network Astro before being distributed to 60 other countries such as Canada and Germany, the series began airing on September 14, 1999 and ended on September 12, 2000.

Animation in Malaysia has origins in the puppetry style of wayang kulit, wherein the characters are controlled by the puppeteer, or Tok Dalang. Bruce Alcock is a Vancouver-based, Newfoundland-born multimedia filmmaker, creative director, and founder of animation studios Cuppa Coffee Studio and Global Mechanic. Born in Corner Brook, Newfoundland, he has directed several animated short films including At The Quinte Hotel (2005), an animated film set to a 1968 CBC Radio recording of Al Purdy reading his poem Quinte Hotel. The film, which combines stop-motion and traditional animation, received the Canadian Film Institute Award for best Canadian animation at the Ottawa International Animation Festival.

It is the third feature film based on the animated TV series Upin & Ipin by Les' Copaque Production, after Geng: The Adventure Begins in 2009 and Upin & Ipin: Jeng Jeng Jeng! in 2016. With a budget of RM20 million, it is the most expensive Malaysian film ever made.
