Leslie C. Smith is a retired United States Army lieutenant general who last served as the 66th Inspector General of the United States Army. [1]

Military career

From 1981 to 1985, Smith earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Georgia Southern University, then went on to study for a Master of Science in Accounting from Central Michigan University and then a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the National Defense University. [2]

On graduation from Georgia Southern University, Smith was also commissioned as a Field Artillery Officer in the United States Army and then assigned as a Chemical Army Officer. Smith has Chemical Officer Basic and Advanced Courses and is a graduate of the Airborne School, United States Army Jumpmaster School, Command and General Staff College and National War College. [3]

His retirement ceremony was held on August 27, 2021, [4] though he remained The Inspector General until September 1. LTG Donna W. Martin became the 67th Inspector General of the United States Army on September 2, 2021. [5]

Michelle Fraley First Puerto Rican woman to graduate from West Point Military Academy

Michelle Fraley is a retired military officer and was the Superintendent of the Puerto Rico Police. Fraley is also the first Puerto Rican woman to graduate from West Point Military Academy and the first woman to hold the aforementioned post of superintendent. She is also the former chief of staff of the Army Network Enterprise Technology Command. John A. Beck was elected in 2018, but suspended by Governor Kemp on May 16, 2019, pending an investigation into allegations of illegal activity committed prior to his taking office. After Beck's conviction of 37 criminal counts of fraud and money laundering on July 22, 2021, Beck was fully and immediately removed from office as per Georgia law, and King became the permanent insurance commissioner. King is a candidate for the position in 2022. King's appointment makes him the first Hispanic statewide official in Georgia's history. A native of Mexico, King is fluent in Spanish.

Jeff W. Mathis III US Army major general

Jeff W. Mathis III was a career officer in the United States Army. A longtime member of the Army National Guard, Mathis attained the rank of major general before retiring in 2014. A veteran of overseas deployment to Africa during the Global War on Terrorism, he was most notable for high profile command assignments including Joint Task Force – Civil Support (2012-2014) and I Corps (2009-2010).
