Lies

"Lies" was considered to be the most commercial of the two. Both songs were included on the album Just Supposin' . [1]

250,000 copies were issued with a picture sleeve; the first 100,000 printed in colour, the rest were printed in black and white.

Don't Drive My Car

"Don't Drive My Car" was mispressed twice - once as "Don't Drive My CAF" (French pressing) and once as "Don't Drive MYICAR" (later UK pressing).[ citation needed ]

The song was reprised, in 2014, for the band's thirty-first studio album Aquostic (Stripped Bare) . It was featured in the ninety-minute launch performance of the album at London's Roundhouse on 22 October, the concert being recorded and broadcast live by BBC Radio 2 as part of their In Concert series. "Down Down" is a song by English rock band Status Quo. Written by Francis Rossi and Bob Young and produced by Status Quo, "Down Down" was Status Quo's only number one single on the UK Singles Chart. The single spent a week at the top of the chart in January 1975. It was released on 29 November 1974 on the Vertigo label, paired with the B-side song "Nightride". Both songs came from the album On the Level, which had yet to be released. The album version lasts 5 minutes and 24 seconds, whilst the single version is 3 minutes and 49 seconds.

"Down the Dustpipe" is a song written by Australian singer-songwriter Carl Groszmann. He was a client of Valley Music, who were affiliated to Status Quo’s management in their early days. The group recorded it, and in Francis Rossi’s words, "it was the first record to feature our soon-to-be trademark boogie shuffle". It became one of the most popular numbers in their live set. Released as a single in March 1970, it took the media by surprise as it was so different in sound from their previous work. Radio 1 presenter Tony Blackburn dismissed it on air the first time he played it with the comment, "Down the dustbin for this one."

Produced by Mike Paxman, this is the band's first completely acoustic album and the first recorded with drummer Leon Cave. Its cover features a photograph by Canadian singer Bryan Adams. The album earned a Gold certification in January 2015.
