Cerro Gordo County is a county located in the U.S. state of Iowa. As of the 2010 census, the population was 44,151. Its county seat is Mason City. The county is named for the Battle of Cerro Gordo, which took place during the Mexican–American War.

Geography

Lincoln Township covers an area of 35.41 square miles (91.7 km2) and contains no incorporated settlements. According to the USGS, it contains one cemetery, Lincoln. The southeast corner of the township borders Mason City, the county seat.

The Mason City Micropolitan Statistical Area includes all of Cerro Gordo and Worth counties. It is commonly referred to as the "River City", as the city grew up centered on the Winnebago River.
