The following is a combined list of major aftershocks of the 2008 Sichuan earthquake (Wenchuan earthquake). Earthquake details in the main article provides a total count of recorded aftershocks. Aftershocks measuring 6.0 Mw or 6.0 Ms and over in either list are in bold. When the dates differ between China Standard Time (CST) and Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), date in CST and time in UTC appear in italic type face.
In this article, a major aftershock is one reaching or exceeding either 5.0 moment magnitude scale (Mw) as reported by United States Geological Survey (USGS) or 5.0 surface wave magnitude (Ms) as published by the China Earthquake Administration (CEA) and its subordinate administration in Sichuan, i.e., Sichuan Earthquake Administration (SCEA).
Four (4) different lists are derived from data published by the above-mentioned three government agencies.
These lists can be compared closely by sorting by time sequence. Other sorting methods may also be useful. (See #Sorting examples.)
