The Winnipeg Jets are a Canadian professional ice hockey team based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. They play in the Central Division of the Western Conference in the National Hockey League (NHL). [1] The team joined the NHL in 1999 as an expansion team as the Atlanta Thrashers, but moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 2011, being renamed after the previous Winnipeg Jets team (now playing as the Arizona Coyotes). The Jets play their home games at the MTS Centre. There have been three general managers since the franchise's inception.

Dudley has also served as a head coach in the National Hockey League, American Hockey League and International Hockey League. Dudley played in the World Hockey Association and in the National Hockey League. Dudley grew up playing hockey in his hometown of Port Credit, Ontario.

Craig Heisinger is a Canadian ice hockey executive. He is the assistant general manager and director of hockey operations for the Winnipeg Jets of the National Hockey League and senior vice president of True North Sports and Entertainment. He is also the general manager of the Manitoba Moose, the American Hockey League affiliate of the Jets.

The 2011–12 Winnipeg Jets season was the 13th season for the National Hockey League (NHL) franchise and the first in Winnipeg, after 12 seasons as the Atlanta Thrashers. The franchise played in Atlanta since the 1999–2000 NHL season, and relocated to Winnipeg following the conclusion of the 2010–11 NHL season. The relocation of the Thrashers to Winnipeg was confirmed by NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman on May 31, 2011, and approved by the NHL Board of Governors on June 21, 2011. The 2011–12 season also marks the first appearance of the Winnipeg Jets name in the NHL since the previous franchise moved from Winnipeg to Phoenix in 1996. At the end of the regular season, the team failed to qualify for the 2012 Stanley Cup playoffs.

Mark Chipman, is a Canadian hockey executive, businessman, and lawyer. Chipman is best known as the chairman of True North Sports & Entertainment, which owns the Winnipeg Jets of the National Hockey League and Canada Life Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He is also the team's governor and currently a member of the National Hockey League Board of Governors' Executive Committee.
