The Minnesota Wild is an American professional ice hockey team based in Saint Paul, Minnesota. It plays in the Central Division of the Western Conference in the National Hockey League (NHL). [1] The Wild joined the NHL in 2000 as an expansion team with the Columbus Blue Jackets. [2] The Wild have played their home games at the Xcel Energy Center since its first season. [3] The team has had four general managers since their inception.

Thomas James Kurvers was an American professional ice hockey defenseman in the National Hockey League (NHL). He spent eleven seasons in the NHL between 1984 and 1995. He won the 1984 Hobey Baker award as the best collegiate ice hockey player, and won the Stanley Cup with the Montreal Canadiens in 1986. After his playing career, he was an executive for the Phoenix Coyotes, the Tampa Bay Lightning and then the Minnesota Wild.

Paul John Fenton Jr. is an American former ice hockey forward and executive. He has previously served as the general manager for the Minnesota Wild. Before joining the Wild, he had worked as assistant general manager with the Nashville Predators.

Chuck Fletcher is a Canadian professional ice hockey executive who is the general manager and co-president of the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League (NHL).

The 2009–10 Minnesota Wild season was the team's tenth season in the National Hockey League (NHL). On May 22, Chuck Fletcher was named as the new general manager of the Wild, replacing Doug Risebrough. On June 16, the Wild named Todd Richards as the new head coach, replacing Jacques Lemaire, who had resigned from the position in April. On August 30, the Wild unveiled their new third jersey, which they debuted on October 21 against the Colorado Avalanche. The team ended its de facto policy of rotating the captaincy monthly by naming Mikko Koivu the team's permanent captain.
