The Columbus Blue Jackets are an American professional ice hockey team based in Columbus, Ohio. They play in the Metropolitan Division of the Eastern Conference in the National Hockey League (NHL). [1] The team joined the NHL in 2000 as an expansion team. The Blue Jackets have played their home games at the Nationwide Arena since their inaugural season. [2] The team has had three general managers since their inception. [3]

Donald Scott Howson is a Canadian ice hockey executive and former player. He was formerly the general manager of the Columbus Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League (NHL). He played 18 games in the NHL with the New York Islanders between the 1984–85 and 1985–86 seasons. The rest of his playing career, which lasted from 1981 to 1986, was spent in the minor leagues. He later turned to coaching and managing, working for several years in the American Hockey League before moving to the NHL.

The Boston Bruins defeated the Vancouver Canucks in the Stanley Cup Finals four games to three, being the sixth Cup win in Bruins' franchise history. For the fourth consecutive season, the season started with games in Europe. The 58th All-Star Game was held at RBC Center in Raleigh, North Carolina, home arena of the Carolina Hurricanes, on January 30, 2011.

The 2011–12 Columbus Blue Jackets season was the team's 12th season in the National Hockey League (NHL). The Blue Jackets' record of 29–46–7 was the worst record in the NHL for 2011–12 and the first time in franchise history they finished in last place. It also marked the third straight year that they missed the playoffs. Consequently, they had the best chance to receive the first overall selection in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft lottery, but lost out to the Edmonton Oilers and received the second pick instead.

The 2012–13 Columbus Blue Jackets season was the 13th season for the National Hockey League (NHL) franchise that was established on June 25, 1997. The regular season was reduced from its usual 82 games to 48 due to a lockout.

Pierre-Luc Dubois is a Canadian professional ice hockey centre for the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL). Dubois was born in Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, Quebec, but grew up in Rimouski. He was drafted third overall in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft by the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Jim Clark is the director of professional scouting for the Ottawa Senators since 2014. Prior to his appointment, Clark scouted for the Detroit Red Wings from 1990 to 1993 and the Florida Panthers from 1996 to 1998. Apart from scouting, Clark was the interim general manager for the Columbus Blue Jackets from April 2007 to June 2007. Outside of the National Hockey League, Clark held coaching positions with the Summerside Western Capitals during the 1980s. With the Island Junior Hockey League team, Clark primarily worked as a general manager while also working as an assistant coach and head coach for Summerside.

Chris MacFarland is an American ice hockey executive serving as the general manager for the Colorado Avalanche of the National Hockey League (NHL).
