"Tico-Tico no fubá" is a Brazilian choro song written by Zequinha de Abreu in 1917. Its original title was "Tico-Tico no farelo", but since Brazilian guitarist Américo Jacomino "Canhoto" (1889–1928) had a work with the same title, Abreu's work was given its present name in 1931, and sometime afterward Aloysio de Oliveira wrote the original Portuguese lyrics.

Limite is a Brazilian silent experimental psychological drama film directed, written and produced by Mário Peixoto, who was inspired by a photograph by André Kertész. Limite was filmed in 1930 and first screened in 1931. It was restored from 1966 to 1978 from a single damaged nitrate print, and one scene remains missing. It is widely regarded as the first experimental feature film made. In a small boat adrift, two women and a man remember their recent past. They no longer have the strength or desire to live and have reached the limit of their existence.

Starring Durval Bellini and Déa Selva, it follows a man who, after killing his wife on their wedding night, moves to a city where he becomes part of a love triangle. It was produced between 1931 and 1932 for Adhemar Gonzaga at his studio Cinédia.
