There have been 38 head coaches of the Bulldogs club since their introduction into top-grade rugby league competition in 1935. Of these, most were full-time coaches, but six of them filled a captain-coach role while playing for the team.

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs are an Australian professional rugby league football club based in Belmore, a suburb in the Canterbury-Bankstown region of Sydney. Ultimately, the Penrith Panthers defeated reigning champions, the Sydney Roosters in the 2003 NRL grand final, claiming their first premiership since 1991.

The 2004 Bulldogs RLFC season was the 70th season in the club's history. Coached by Steve Folkes and captained by Steve Price, they competed in the NRL's 2004 Telstra Premiership, finishing the regular season 2nd. The Bulldogs' goal-kicker Hazem El Masri was the competition's top point scorer as they went on to claim their 8th Premiership with a 16–13 win over the Sydney Roosters in the 2004 NRL Grand Final.

The 1998 Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs season was the 64th in the club's history. Coached by Steve Folkes and captained by Simon Gillies then Darren Britt, they competed in the 1998 NRL season's, finishing the regular season 9th to make a top-ten play-off grouping before reaching the grand final which they lost to the Brisbane Broncos.

The 2012 Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs season was the 78th in the club's history. Coached by Des Hasler and captained by Michael Ennis, they competed in the National Rugby League's 2012 Telstra Premiership, finishing the regular season in 1st place to take the minor premiership. They then won both of their finals matches to reach the 2012 NRL Grand final but were defeated by the Melbourne Storm.

The 2019 Melbourne Storm season was the 22nd in the club's history, competing in the 2019 NRL season. The team was coached by Craig Bellamy, who coached the club for his 17th consecutive season. Melbourne Storm were captained by Cameron Smith, who had been the sole captain for the team since 2008. On 13 July 2019 Smith became the first NRL player to play 400 NRL games. On 31 August 2019 the Storm defeated the Manly Sea Eagles to win their fourth J. J. Giltinan Shield as the minor premiers.
