2004 Bulldogs RLFC season

The 2004 Bulldogs RLFC season was the 70th season in the club's history. Coached by Steve Folkes and captained by Steve Price, they competed in the NRL's 2004 Telstra Premiership, finishing the regular season 2nd (out of 15). The Bulldogs' goal-kicker Hazem El Masri was the competition's top point scorer as they went on to claim their 8th Premiership with a 16–13 win over the Sydney Roosters in the 2004 NRL Grand Final.

An international representative for Australia and Lebanon, and a New South Wales State of Origin representative goal-kicking wing, he played his entire club football career in Sydney with Canterbury-Bankstown with whom he won the 2004 NRL Premiership. In 2009 El Masri took the record for the highest-ever point scorer in premiership history and for a record sixth time was the NRL's top point scorer for the season. He also became only the seventh player in history to score over 150 NRL tries, having primarily played on the wing, but also at fullback.

Steven John Price is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1990s and 2000s primarily as a prop. An Australian international representative, he retired as Queensland's most capped State of Origin forward. Price captained Sydney club, the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs as well as New Zealand NRL club, the Warriors.

The 2002 NRL season was the 95th season of professional rugby league football in Australia and the fifth to be run by the National Rugby League. The season was affected by the competition-leading Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs' salary cap breach finding, which saw them relegated to the bottom of the NRL ladder. As a result, the New Zealand Warriors won their first minor premiership and made it to the grand final for the first time, playing against foundation club the Sydney Roosters who won the match and collected their first premiership in 27 years.

The 2004 NRL season was the 97th season of professional rugby league football in Australia, and the seventh run by the National Rugby League. Fifteen clubs competed during the regular season before the top eight finishing teams contested the finals series. The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs defeated the Sydney Roosters in the 2004 NRL grand final and in doing so claimed their eighth premiership.

Darren Smith is an Australian former rugby league footballer who played in the 1990s and 2000s. He played for the Australian national side and also Queensland in the State of Origin. The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs are a professional rugby league club in the National Rugby League (NRL), the premier rugby league football competition in Australia.

The history of the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs stretches from the 1930s to the present day. Based in Belmore, a suburb of Sydney, the Bulldogs in 1935 were admitted to the New South Wales Rugby Football League (NSWRFL) competition, a predecessor of the current NRL competition.

The 2003 Bulldogs RLFC season was the 69th in the club's history. Coached by Steve Folkes and captained by Steve Price, they competed in the NRL's 2003 Telstra Premiership, finishing the regular season 3rd, and making the finals after finishing the previous season with the wooden spoon due to salary cap breaches. The Bulldogs went on to come within one game of the 2003 NRL Grand final but were knocked out by the Sydney Roosters.

The 2002 Bulldogs RLFC season was the 68th in the club's history. Coached by Steve Folkes and captained by Steve Price, they competed in the National Rugby League's 2002 Telstra Premiership, finishing the regular season at the bottom of the ladder due to punishment for breaches of the NRL's strictly-enforced salary cap. The discovery of these breaches resulted in then-unprecedented penalties being inflicted upon the Sydney-based club, none more so than the 37 competition points gained from the 2002 season docked from them and the demotion of the club from first to last place with three rounds remaining in the season. In addition to those penalties, the club was fined a then-record $500,000. The League's top try scorer for the season was Nigel Vagana with 23 and the top points scorer was Hazem El Masri with 254 - both Bulldogs players.

The 2012 Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs season was the 78th in the club's history. Coached by Des Hasler and captained by Michael Ennis, they competed in the National Rugby League's 2012 Telstra Premiership, finishing the regular season in 1st place to take the minor premiership. They then won both of their finals matches to reach the 2012 NRL Grand final but were defeated by the Melbourne Storm.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2004 NRL Grand Final</span>

The 2004 NRL Grand Final was the conclusive and premiership-deciding game of the 2004 NRL season. It was contested by the Sydney Roosters, who had finished the regular season in 1st place, and the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, who had finished the regular season in 2nd place. After both sides eliminated the rest of 2004's top eight teams over the finals series, they faced each other in a grand final for the first time since the 1980 NSWRFL season's decider.

The 2014 NRL Grand Final was the concluding and premiership-deciding match of the 2014 NRL season. Played on the evening of Sunday 5 October 2014 at ANZ Stadium, the match was contested by the South Sydney Rabbitohs and the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs. South Sydney won the match with a decisive 30 points to 6 victory, ending a 43-year premiership drought by claiming their 21st title. South Sydney forward Sam Burgess, who suffered a broken cheekbone from the game's opening tackle, was awarded the Clive Churchill Medal as the best player on ground.

The 2004 South Sydney Rabbitohs season was the 95th in the club's history. Coached by Arthur Kitinas and Paul Langmack and captained by Bryan Fletcher and Ashley Harrison, they competed in the National Rugby League's 2004 Telstra Premiership, finishing the regular season 15th out of 15 teams, failing to reach the finals.
