Esteghlal F.C. is an Iranian professional association football club base in Tehran. The club was formed in Ferdowsi Street, central Tehran in 26 September 1945 [1] as Docharkhesavaran and was renamed to Taj F.C. in 11 February 1950. In spring of 1979 and only a few weeks after the Iranian revolution the club was renamed to its current name, Esteghlal F.C. [2]
Ali Danaeifard is the first manager in the club's history. Danaifard managed Taj in 3 separate spells. As of 2024–25 season there have been 43 managers in 70 separate spells managing the club.

Ali Ansarian was an Iranian professional footballer, actor and presenter. His uncle, Hossein, is a famous Shia cleric.
Amin Zendegani is an Iranian actor. He is best known for his role as Solomon in the historical film The Kingdom of Solomon (2010). He has also starred in television series The Newlywed (2002), Mokhtarnameh (2010–2011), Everything Is There (2014–2015), and Touba (2024). Zendegani earned a Hafez Award nomination for his performance in Everything Is There. In 1996, he also won the Best Actor award as the second runner-up in Fajr Theatre Festival for his performance in Burning Red.
The 2012–13 season are the Esteghlal Football Club's 12th season in the Iran Pro League, and their 19th consecutive season in the top division of Iranian football. They are also competing in the Hazfi Cup and AFC Champions League, and 68th year in existence as a football club.
The 2015–16 Persian Gulf Pro League was the 33rd season of Iran's Football League and 15th as Persian Gulf Pro League since its establishment in 2001. Sepahan were the defending champions. The season featured 14 teams from the 2014–15 Persian Gulf Cup and two new teams promoted from the 2014–15 Azadegan League: Siah Jamegan and Esteghlal Ahvaz. The league started on 30 July 2015 and ended on 13 May 2016. Esteghlal Khuzestan won the Pro League title for the first time in their history. Mehdi Taremi of Persepolis was the top scorer with 16 goals.

Seyed Mohammad Saleh Mostafavi, also known as Saleh Mostafavi, is an Iranian football coach and former player. He is currently working as an assistant coach at Al-Ittihad Kalba SC in UAE Pro League. Mostafavi in his career has the experience of playing in the Nirooye Zamini F.C. and also has the experience of playing in the Iran national beach soccer team. In the field of coaching, Mustafavi has the experience of working with figures such as Nasser Hejazi, Alireza Mansourian, Walter Zenga, Carlos Queiroz, Andrea Stramaccioni, Majid Namjoo-Motlagh and Farhad Majidi. He has an Asia A level coaching certificate and has gained championship experience as a coach with the Esteghlal F.C. in the 2021-22 season in Persian Gulf Pro League. He was also the temporary head coach of Esteghlal F.C. team for a short period.

Alireza Kamalinezhad is an Iranian actor. He is best known for his roles in Breath (2017), The Moment of Twilight (2019), and Abadan Eleven 60 (2020). Kamali gained wide recognition and critical acclaim after portraying Reza Parvaneh in the web series The Lion Skin (2022–2023) and earned a Hafez Award for his performance.
