The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) is a men's professional basketball league in the Philippines, composed of twelve company-branded franchise teams. Founded in 1975, it is the first professional basketball league in Asia and the second-oldest in the world after the NBA.

Allan Vito Flores Caidic is a Filipino former professional basketball player, coach and executive who is currently serving as consultant for San Sebastian Stags. He is considered by many to be the greatest shooter the country has ever produced, thus, earning the moniker, "The Triggerman".

The Philippines men's national basketball team, commonly known as Gilas Pilipinas, is the basketball team representing the Philippines. The team is managed by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Noli Eala</span> Former Chairman of the Philippine Sports Commission

Jose Emmanuel "Noli" Macasaet Eala is a Filipino sports executive and disbarred lawyer who served as the 11th chairperson of the Philippine Sports Commission from August 30 to December 28, 2022. He previously served as the sixth commissioner of the Philippine Basketball Association from 2003 to 2007. Before he became the commissioner of the league, he was a play-by-play commentator of Viva-Vintage Sports, which broadcasts the PBA Games, from the early 1990s until 2002. He was elected as commissioner of the league in 2002 after his predecessor, Emilio "Jun" Bernardino, retired from his post.

One Sports is the sports division of TV5 Network, Inc. and jointly-operated with sister company Cignal TV. One Sports supplies and airs major sporting events in the Philippines and the world for free-to-air TV channels TV5, RPTV, One Sports channel, Cignal-exclusive channels One Sports+, PBA Rush, NBA TV Philippines and UAAP Varsity Channel, and online esports streaming channel GG Network.

Marlou Bucao Aquino is a Filipino former professional basketball player who currently serves as the team consultant for the Pangasinan Heatwaves of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). During his prime, he was known by fans as "The Skyscraper" and was, along with Edward Joseph Feihl, one-half of the so-called "Twin Towers" of the Ginebra San Miguel.

Sunday Salvacion is a Filipino former professional basketball player. He played the small forward and shooting guard positions. Salvacion played college basketball for the De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) Blazers before spending twelve years in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). Salvacion also played in the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) and the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL).

Jayson Castro William is a Filipino professional basketball player for the TNT Tropang Giga of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). His moniker is "The Blur" for his speed.

Chico A. Lanete is a Filipino professional basketball coach and former player. He is the head coach for the Chooks-to-Go 3x3 pro circuit teams. In 5×5 full court basketball, he last played for the Bicol Volcanoes of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). He grew up in Isabela, Basilan and then played for Southern City Colleges in Zamboanga City during college before moving to Lyceum of the Philippines University.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Ynares Sports Arena</span> Public indoor arena in Pasig, Philippines

The Ynares Sports Arena is an indoor arena located in Pasig, Metro Manila, Philippines. The stadium has hosted the basketball games of the Philippine Basketball Association, Philippine Basketball League, and Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League, as well as college basketball tournaments. The arena was built in the former location of Rizal's provincial capitol, just nearby the location of former Rizal Provincial Jail Facility.

The San Miguel Beermen was a professional basketball team that played in the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) from 2012 to 2013. The team was from the Philippines and owned by San Miguel Corporation (SMC). This franchise was separate and distinct from the original Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) franchise which played as the "Petron Blaze Boosters" when this team was active. The Beermen played most of their home games at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig but also played some of their games in the Olivarez College Gym, Ynares Center, and PhilSports Arena.

Marcio Tsongo Sandio Eshabarr Lassiter is a Filipino-American professional basketball player for the San Miguel Beermen of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). He had a stint with the Philippine national basketball team, the Smart Gilas. Considered the best all-around sharpshooter in the PBA when Smart Gilas played as a guest team in the league, Lassiter plays the swingman position. He graduated and played college basketball for Cal State Fullerton.
