The Gaon Digital Chart is a chart that ranks the best-performing singles in South Korea. Managed by the domestic Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST), its data is compiled by the Korea Music Content Industry Association and published by the Gaon Music Chart. [1] [2] The ranking is based collectively on each single's download sales, stream count, and background music use. [2] In mid-2008, the Recording Industry Association of Korea ceased publishing music sales data. [3] The MCST established a process to collect music sales in 2009, and began publishing its data with the introduction of the Gaon Music Chart the following February. [4] With the creation of the Gaon Digital Chart, digital data for individual songs was provided in the country for the first time. [3] Gaon provides weekly (listed from Sunday to Saturday), monthly and yearly charts. Below is a list of singles that topped the weekly and monthly charts.

<i>The War</i> (album) 2017 studio album by Exo

The War is the fourth studio album by South Korean–Chinese boy band Exo. It was released digitally on July 18, 2017 and physically on July 19, 2017 by SM Entertainment under Genie Music's distribution. The album includes a total of nine tracks including the lead single "Ko Ko Bop". The War received the highest number of pre-orders at the time for a K-pop album, with more than 800,000 physical copies. 24 days after being released, it became Exo's fourth consecutive studio album to have sold over a million copies. The album was re-released under the title The War: The Power of Music on September 5, 2017. This was the first Exo release not to feature member Lay, who began an indefinite hiatus shortly before the music video for "Ko Ko Bop" was filmed, and the last album to be separately released in both Korean and Chinese language.

Golden Child is a South Korean boy band formed by Woollim Entertainment in 2017.The group is composed of ten members: Daeyeol, Y, Jangjun, Tag, Seungmin, Jaehyun, Jibeom, Donghyun, Joochan and Bomin. Originally an eleven-piece ensemble, Jaeseok departed from the group due to health issues in early 2018. The group debuted on August 28, 2017, with their EP Gol-Cha!.

The discography of South Korean girl group Loona consists of one reissue, five extended plays (EPs), and twelve single albums. From October 2016 to March 2018, the group's label, Blockberry Creative, released individual single albums for each Loona member as part of an 18-month pre-debut project. The pre-debut project eventually culminated in the release of "Favorite" on August 7, 2018, marking the group's first 12-member release. The single later appeared on [ + + ], which was released on August 20 with the single, "Hi High". The EP peaked at number two on South Korea's Gaon Album Chart and was later reissued as [X X] on February 19, 2019, with the lead single "Butterfly". The reissue reached number four on the Gaon Album Chart, while the single marked Loona's first appearance on one of Gaon's singles charts, reaching number 90 on the Download Chart.
