List of Hockey Night in Canada commentating crews (1990s)

Throughout this period, Hockey Night in Canada broadcasts started at the Canadian Broadcasting Centre in Toronto in the regular season and the first two rounds. However, on-site broadcasts began in the final two rounds of the playoffs, including the Stanley Cup Finals. Ron MacLean and Don Cherry hosted the national broadcast, the main Conference Final, the Stanley Cup Finals, and Coach's Corner across Canada while Scott Russell and one of Rick Bowness, Greg Millen, or Kelly Hrudey hosted the other Conference Final. Meanwhile, game reporters/hosts were sent to games during the regular season and the first two rounds of the playoffs. Scott Russell hosted the Montreal Canadiens games, Steve Armitage hosts the Western Canada and Vancouver Canucks games. Meanwhile, Tom Harrington either the Calgary Flames or Edmonton Oilers games from Alberta while Scott Oake hosted the Eastern Canada and Winnipeg Jets games. In those instances, the game host/reporter interviews the players and coaches during the intermissions.

The 1993–94 Toronto Maple Leafs season saw the Leafs finish in second place in the Central Division with a record of 43 wins, 29 losses and 12 ties for 98 points. The team opened the 1993–94 regular season with ten consecutive wins and made it to the Conference Finals for the second straight year.
