Laura Pausini is an Italian singer and songwriter. Her self-titled debut album was released in Italy on 23 April 1993 and later became an international success, selling two million copies worldwide. Its follow-up, Laura, was released in 1994 and confirmed her international success, selling three million copies worldwide.

Baltimora was an Italian music project from Milan, active from 1984 to 1987. They are best known for their 1985 single "Tarzan Boy" and are often considered a one-hit wonder in the United Kingdom and the United States. In other European countries, including their native Italy, Baltimora scored a follow-up hit "Woody Boogie" the same year.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Eurobeat</span> Music genre

Eurobeat refers to two styles of dance music that originated in Europe: one is a British variant of Italian Eurodisco-influenced dance-pop, and the other is a hi-NRG-driven form of Italo disco. Both forms were developed in the 1980s.

"Tarzan Boy" is the debut single by Italian-based act Baltimora. The song was written by Maurizio Bassi and Naimy Hackett, and released in 1985 as the lead single from Baltimora's debut album Living in the Background. The song was remixed and re-released in 1993, and has been covered by several artists throughout the years.

Italo disco is a music genre which originated in Italy in the late 1970s and was mainly produced in the 1980s. Italo disco evolved from the then-current underground dance, pop, and electronic music, both domestic and foreign and developed into a diverse genre. The genre employs electronic drums, drum machines, synthesizers, and occasionally vocoders. It is usually sung in English, and to a lesser extent in Italian and Spanish.

Marco Mengoni is an Italian singer-songwriter who rose to fame in 2009, after winning the third season of Italian talent show X Factor. Since that he has sold over 2.8 million records in Italy, peaking the Italian albums chart seven consecutive times and entering the Top 10 Italian Singles Chart fifteen times. He won the Sanremo Music Festival in 2013 and again in 2023, therefore representing Italy in the Eurovision Song Contest in both years, respectively.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Woody Boogie</span> 1985 single by Baltimora

"Woody Boogie" is an Italo disco song recorded and released by Italy-based act Baltimora. Released in 1985, it was the group's second single from their debut album Living in the Background, where it appears as the fourth track. Two promotional videos were created for the single. The song notably features a synthesizer replaying cartoon character Woody Woodpecker’s signature laugh, which is incorporated into the chorus as well as other parts of the song.

"Key Key Karimba" is a song by Italo disco act Baltimora, released in 1987 as the lead single from their second and final studio album Survivor in Love. The song was written and produced by Maurizio Bassi.

Novecento is an Italian band founded by Pino Nicolosi, Lino Nicolosi, Rossana Nicolosi, and Dora Nicolosi in 1984. Their music has gone through a variety of genres, such as Italo disco, synthpop, soft rock, pop rock, jazz, and funk. The band was active in the 1980s and the 1990s and became popular with the debut single, "Movin' On", which sold more than 100,000 copies in 1984. The band went on to win the "Revelation of the Year" award during the national television event Azzurro 1984. They were signed to Italian Five Records and Baby Records, with international distribution via WEA, Warner Music, and ZTT.

Letizia Oliva, known professionally as Tiziana Rivale, is an Italian singer primarily associated with the Italo disco style. In 1983, she won the Sanremo Music Festival with the song "Sarà quel che sarà".

"How Old Are You?" is a 1984 Italo disco song by Italian singer Miko Mission. It was the biggest hit from the artist.
