Tanaji Kaloji Malusare or Subedar Tanaji Malusare was a military commander of the Maratha kingdom and a companion of Shivaji. A local poet Tulsidas, wrote a powada describing Subhedar Tanhaji's heroics and sacrifice of life in the Battle of Sinhagad, which has since made him a popular figure in Indian folklore.

Parmar, also known as Panwar is a Rajput clan found in Northern and Central India, especially in Rajasthan, Gujarat, Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh and North Maharashtra. The Panwar ruled in Ujjain and later in Dhar.

Bharatsinh Madhavsinh Solanki, is an Indian politician and former president of Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee. He was Minister of State for Union Minister of State for Drinking Water and Sanitation in the Government of India in the Second Manmohan Singh ministry till May 2014. His previous posts include that of Minister of State for Power. He has also served as Secretary at All India Congress Committee from 2004 to 2006. He was born to Madhavsinh Solanki of Gujarat.

When he was excluded from cabinet ministry in the Gujarat government, there was a protest by people from Koli community in Rajkot district to make him a minister.

Parshottambhai Odhavjibhai Solanki is a Bharatiya Janata Party politician. He is member of Gujarat Legislative Assembly since 1998 representing Bhavnagar Rural constituency. He has served as the Minister of Fisheries in the Government of Gujarat. He is alleged to have caused loss of 400 crore to the government of Gujarat by granting contracts improperly.

Kirit Premjibhai Solanki is an Indian Politician and medical practitioner who has been elected Member of Parliament of India for three consecutive terms. He represents the Ahmedabad West constituency of Gujarat and is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party political party. Currently, he has been appointed as the chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on the Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. He is also part of the panel of chairpersons who preside over the House in the absence of the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker. He is one of the most active members in the parliament and had nearly 100% attendance in the 15th and 16th Lok Sabha. He has been awarded the Shreshth Sansad Award consecutively twice in 2018 and 2019 for his active work in the parliament and constituency.

She was earlier elected to the Gujarat Legislative Assembly in 2012 from Talaja in Bhavnagar district. She is consulting Ayurvedic practitioner by profession. She belongs to Koli community of Gujarat. She is a National Vice President of the BJP.

Gigabhai Bhavubhai Gohil was an Indian politician. He was elected to the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Parliament of India from Bhavnagar in Gujarat as a member of the Indian National Congress. Gigabhai Gohil started his political career as Sarpanch of Khari village in Mahuva taluka and later became the president of Bhavnagar district panchayat, MLA and Minister of State. Gohil belonged to Koli community of Gujarat.

He was elected to the Lok Sabha, lower house of the Parliament of India from Anand, Gujarat in the 2019 Indian general election as a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He recorded a victory by 197,718 votes. He defeated Bharatsinh Madhavsinh Solanki of Indian National Congress, who served as Minister of State under UPAII.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Talpada Kolis</span> Subcaste of Koli caste of Gujarat

The Talapada Koli, or Talpada Koli, is a subcaste of the Koli caste of Gujarat state in India. Talapada Kolis are agriculturists by profession. they were members of the Gujarat Kshatriya Sabha, an organisation launched by Natwarsinh Solanki who was a Koli elite. In 1907, they were classified by the British as a Criminal Tribe, ascribing to them a range of anti-social activities such as highway robbery, murder, and theft of animals, cattle and standing crops. They were also alleged to be blackmailers and hired assassins.

The Muslim Koli, or Musalman Koli is a religious subgroup of Hindu Koli caste in India and Pakistan. Most of the Muslim Kolis lives in Maharashtra and Gujarat of India and Sindh province of Pakistan. Muslim Kolis were Hindu by religion but later they were converted to Muslim and accept Islam.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Nimuben Bambhaniya</span> Indian politician

Nimuben Jayantibhai Bambhaniya is an Indian politician, social worker and incumbent Member of Parliament in Lok Sabha for the Bhavnagar Lok Sabha constituency and Minister of State in government of India as a member of Bharatiya Janata Party. In the 2024 Indian general elections, she defeated Umeshbhai Makwana of Aam Aadmi Party by 455,289 votes. Nimuben Bambhaniya belong to the Koli caste of Gujarat.
