Low Thia Khiang is a Singaporean former politician. A member of the Workers' Party (WP), Low was one of the two opposition MPs in Parliament between 1997 and 2011 and served as Secretary-General of the WP between 2001 and 2018. He served as a Member of Parliament (MP) for Hougang SMC between 1991 and 2011, and also Aljunied GRC representing Bedok Reservoir — Punggol division between 2011 and 2020.

Dhanabalan Suppiah, also known as S. Dhanabalan, is a Singaporean former politician who served as Minister for Foreign Affairs between 1980 and 1988. A member of the governing People's Action Party (PAP), he was the Member of Parliament (MP) representing Kallang SMC between 1976 and 1991, and the Kuo Chuan ward of Toa Payoh GRC between 1991 and 1996.

The Bishan–Toa Payoh Group Representation Constituency (GRC) is a four-member Group Representation Constituency located in the central region of Singapore. The GRC consists the entire areas of Bishan, Singapore, the majority of Toa Payoh, parts of Thomson, Singapore managed by Bishan-Toa Payoh Town Council. There are four divisions of the GRC: Bishan East, Toa Payoh West, Toa Payoh East and Toa Payoh Central. The current Member of Parliament (MP) are Chong Kee Hiong, Chee Hong Tat, Ng Eng Hen and Saktiandi Supaat, from the People's Action Party (PAP).

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2011 Singaporean general election</span> Elections to the 12th Parliament of Singapore

General elections were held in Singapore on 7 May 2011. President S. R. Nathan dissolved parliament on 19 April 2011 on the advice of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. Voting is mandatory in Singapore and is based on the first-past-the-post system. Elections are conducted by the Elections Department, which is under the jurisdiction of the Prime Minister's Office. Nomination day was held on 27 April 2011, and for the second election in a row, the PAP did not return to government on nomination day, but it did return to government on polling day. This election also marked the first and the only three-cornered fight since 2001 in Punggol East SMC before it increased to four-cornered fight on a by-election held two years later.

Subramaniam Iswaran, commonly known as S. Iswaran, is a Singaporean former politician who served as Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations between 2018 and 2024 and Minister for Transport between 2021 and 2024. A former member of the governing People's Action Party (PAP), he was the Member of Parliament (MP) representing the West Coast division of West Coast GRC between 2001 and 2024. Iswaran resigned as Minister of Transport, Member of Parliament, and the People's Action Party on 16 January 2024, two days before he pleaded not guilty to 27 charges.

Toa Payoh Group Representation Constituency (GRC) was a group representation constituency that from 1988 to 1997 comprised Kuo Chuan, Boon Teck and Toa Payoh, in the Central Region of Singapore. The MPs are Davinder Singh, Ho Tat Kin and S. Dhanabalan.

Tang Guan Seng is a Singaporean politician. A member of the governing People's Action Party (PAP), he was a Member of the Parliament representing Khe Bong SMC from 1984 to 1988, Hougang SMC from 1988 to 1991 and Ang Mo Kio GRC representing Ang Mo Kio division from 1997 to 2001.
