Lakshman Jayakody

Lakshman Jayakody was a Sri Lankan politician, an SLFP stalwart and the Minister of Cultural and Religious Affairs in the Sri Lankan Cabinet from 1994 to 2000.

Presidential Film Awards is a film award ceremony held in Sri Lanka. It is organized by the National Film Corporation along with the Presidential Secretariat and the Ministry of Cultural Affairs. It was 1st awards in 1979 by President J. R. Jayewardene, and continue till 2004. The awards were not held from 2005 to 2014 when Mahinda Rajapakse was president. The award started to be presented again in 2015 by President Maithripala Sirisena.

Marcelline Jayakody

Fr. Marcelline Jayakody was a Sri Lankan Catholic priest, musician, lyricist, author, journalist and an exponent of indigenous culture. He is attributed with the epithet 'පන්සලේ පියතුමා'. Ven. Dr. Ittapane Dhammalankara Thera authored a book on Jayakody's life, මල් පැලේ උපන් පන්සලේ පියතුමා,, which is recorded as the first book in the world by a Buddhist prelate on a Catholic priest.

Sisila Gini Gani is a 1992 Sri Lankan, Sinhala language film. It was the first film directed by Prasanna Vithanage. The film stars Sanath Gunathilake and Sabeetha Perera in lead roles along with Veena Jayakody and Asoka Peiris.

It stars Geetha Kumarasinghe and Kamal Addararachchi in lead roles along with Jackson Anthony and Mahendra Perera. Music composed by veteran musician Premasiri Khemadasa. It is the 1045th Sri Lankan film in the Sinhala cinema.

Prasanna Jayakody is a Sri Lankan film director and screenwriter, internationally recognized for his cinematic accomplishments in contemporary Sri Lankan cinema. His movies primarily explore the human state of mind. They are fusions of human emotions, senses and thoughts set against the fractured socio-economic, cultural and religious environments of Sri Lanka. In the global context, Jayakody’s cinema represents the psycho-biological realities of mankind and arbitrariness of human cognition juxtaposed against the larger concept of civilization. Jayakody’s eccentric cinematic world, in the absence of a flowing story, capitalizes on subtle but detailed images and intense characters.

Jayakodige Dona Geetha Kanthi, popularly as Geetha Kanthi Jayakody, is an actress in Sri Lankan cinema. theater and television. She is also a dubbing artist.

In November 2005 President of Sri Lanka Chandrika Kumaratunga awarded national honours to 231 individuals for distinguished services. The awards ceremony was held on 14 November 2005 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall in Colombo.
