List of Taiwanese presidential pets

Presidents of the Republic of China (Taiwan) have often kept pets while in office.

In addition to traditional pets, this list includes some animals normally considered livestock or working animals that have a close association with presidents or their families; occasionally the animals were given to the presidents from foreign dignitaries.

Urtica thunbergiana, also known as the Japanese nettle or hairy nettle, is a species of perennial herbs in the family Urticaceae. It is found in Japan, China and Taiwan. The habitat of the species is moist forests in the mountains. It is in flower from July to September, and its seeds ripen from August to October. The larvae of Vanessa indica, a species of butterfly, are known to feed on U. thunbergiana.

The current pet keeping policy in public housing estates in Hong Kong was introduced in 2003 by the Housing Department after the outbreak of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS). Its objective is to improve the hygiene of public housing estates. Under the policy, public housing tenants are allowed to keep small household pets such as cats and birds but are prohibited from keeping dogs at their premises except under special circumstances, subject to the approval granted by the Housing Authority. The policy has led to debates and calls for amendments.

Bugcat Capoo, sometimes abbreviated to Capoo, is a cartoon character resembling a chubby blue cat with six legs. He is the namesake and main subject of a webcomic strip on Facebook and Instagram, cartoon clips on YouTube, and stickers on LINE and other social media. He was created by the Taiwanese artist Yara in 2014.

The British Consulate General Hong Kong is the sole governmental agency currently tasked with offering professional formal English-to-Cantonese name translation services to British officials. No similar services are offered by UK diplomatic missions within the Greater China area. <i>Lost Romance</i> 2020 Taiwanese television series

Lost Romance is a 2020 Taiwanese romantic-fantasy television series created and produced by Sanlih E-Television. Starring Marcus Chang and Vivian Sung, it tells the story of an editor in a publishing company who magically finds herself transported into the pages of a romance novel – and comes face-to-face with the man of her dreams. The series premiered on Sundays at 10:00 p.m. on TTV in Taiwan from June 7, 2020, to October 18, 2020, and aired on Saturdays at 10:00 p.m. on cable television SET Metro from June 13, 2020, to October 24, 2020. The series was filmed as it aired. It is available for streaming internationally on Viki, Vidol, and Netflix with multilingual subtitles for the global viewers.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Huang Hong-cheng</span> Taiwanese social activist

Huang Hong-cheng is a Taiwanese performance artist, a social activist and a perennial candidate in Taiwanese elections. Born Huang Hong-cheng (黃宏成), he has been well-known for renaming himself multiple times. He is currently known as 黃宏成台灣阿成世界偉人財神總統. He once had the longest name in Taiwan, but the record was broken by a YouTuber, who changed his name in June 2020.
