Super Deluxe is a 2019 Indian Tamil-language hyperlink film produced and directed by Thiagarajan Kumararaja, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Mysskin, Nalan Kumarasamy and Neelan K. Sekar. It featured an ensemble cast of Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil, Samantha Akkineni, Ramya Krishnan, Mysskin, Gayathrie, Ashwanth Ashokkumar, Bagavathi Perumal and Mirnalini Ravi. The film featured cinematography handled jointly by P. S. Vinod and Nirav Shah, editing done by Sathyaraj Natarajan and music scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The film had four parallelly interwoven stories revolving around four individuals who find themselves in the most unexpected predicaments, each poised to experience their destiny, all on one fateful day. The film marked Thiagarajan Kumararaja's return to direction, since his debut film Aaranya Kaandam released eight years ago, in 2011. [1]

The film was theatrically released on 29 March 2019 and received critical acclaim, praising the performances of the cast, especially for that of Vijay Sethupathi, who essayed the role of a transgender. Super Deluxe was further screened at the Fantasia International Film Festival, the largest genre film festival in North America [2] and Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival. [3] It was also featured in several Top 10 lists by several publications including The Times of India , [4] The Indian Express , [5] Sify [6] and Film Companion . [7] In 2019, Film Companion further ranked Vijay Sethupathi and Ashwanth Ashokkumar's performances in the list of "100 Greatest Performances of the Decade". [8]

Super Deluxe won four Ananda Vikatan Cinema Awards, including Best Screenplay, Best Supporting Actor – Female (Ramya Krishnan), Best Cinematographer (P. S. Vinod and Nirav Shah), Best Music Director (Yuvan Shankar Raja). At the inaugural ceremony for Zee Cine Awards Tamil, Super Deluxe won five awards including Best Supporting Actor – Female (Ramya Krishnan), Best Child Artist (Ashwanth Ashokkumar), Best Editor (Sathyaraj Natarajan), Best Art Director (Vijay Adhinathan), and a Jury Special Award for Best Actress (Samantha Akkineni). The film further won two Edison Awards, [9] four at the Critics' Choice Movie Awards including Best Movie of the Year and Best Film – Tamil, [10] two awards at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne, [11] including a Honorary Award for Equality in Cinema, [12] and a nomination at the 9th AACTA Awards, for Best Asian Film. [13] On 22 March 2021, at the 67th National Film Awards held for Indian films released in 2019, Vijay Sethupathi won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor. [14] [15]

'96 is a 2018 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film written and directed by C. Premkumar. Produced by S. Nanthagopal of Madras Enterprises, the film was distributed by Lalit Kumar under his banner Seven Screen Studio. Starring Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha Krishnan in the prominent roles as Ram and Jaanu, while newcomers Gouri G. Kishan and Aadithya Bhaskar played the younger version. The film also stars with an ensemble cast includes Bagavathi Perumal, Devadarshini, Aadukalam Murugadoss and others. The film revolves around the reunion of former students from the batch of 1996, twenty-two years after their graduation. Sathyaraj Natarajan is an Indian film editor, who has worked on Tamil language films. He was an assistant to Praveen K. L., and has often collaborated in ventures involving director Sai Gokul and won critical acclaimed films for Vidiyum Munn (2013) and Kalyana Samayal Saadham (2013).

Super Deluxe is the soundtrack to the 2019 Tamil-language film of the same name, co-written, co-produced and directed by Thiagarajan Kumararaja. The album featured 18 instrumental pieces, composed, arranged, produced and programmed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, eventually marking his second collaboration with Kumararaja after the critically acclaimed Aaranya Kaandam (2011). Unlike, his first film which had no songs, Kumararaja demanded to include a soundtrack having lyrical songs, but later abandoned. This film, eventually marked Yuvan's third musical which did not contain any songs. The team, however reused licensed compositions from yesteryear films.

Neelambaradhan, better known by his stage name Neelan Sekar, is an Indian Film director and Screenwriter, works predominantly in Tamil cinema. He started his career as a dialogue writer for Arinthum Ariyamalum. He made his directing debut with Alibhabha in 2008, with, actor Kreshna in the lead role, produced by Pattiyal Sekhar. His work as a screenwriter includes movies like Naan, Super Deluxe, Maara and Cobra. He has also co-written Fingertip produced by Vishnuvardhan in 2019. He received the Best Screenplay Writer award from the Ananda Vikatan Cinema Awards for his work in Super Deluxe along with Thiagarajan Kumararaja, Mysskin, and Nalan Kumarasamy.

Raaghavan, also credited as Master Raghavan, is an Indian child actor who works in Tamil and Telugu language films. His debut was in the 2016 movie, Sethupathi, with Vijay Sethupathi. His performances have received positive reviews in several of his films
