The California State University (Cal State or CSU) is the largest public university system in California as well as the United States at-large, consisting of 23 official campuses (plus eight subsidiary off-campus centers) which together enroll approximately 460,000 students and employ more than 56,000 faculty and staff members. [1] It holds the distinction of being the leading producer of bachelor's degrees in the country, with over 110,000 graduates each year across all fields, among them over 10,000 earned from one of the system's 129 degree-granting programs in engineering (during the 2019–20 academic year [2] ).

Undergraduate accreditation

  1. 1 2 This program is recognized as having substantial equivalency from the signatories to the Sydney Accord, a mutual recognition agreement to which its accrediting organization (ABET) is a signatory, along with the equivalent organizations in eleven other nations, providing holders of four-year degrees in Engineering Technology granted at their accredited institutions since 2001 de facto transferability of the degree for licensure or continuing education. [5]
  2. This program is recognized as having substantial equivalency from the signatories to the Washington Accord, an international accreditation agreement to which its accrediting organization (ABET) is a signatory, joined by the organizations responsible for accrediting schools of engineering in 21 other countries, binding all parties to make no distinctions between engineering degrees from any signatory-accredited schools granted since 1989 or the year the accrediting organization became a signatory to the accord, whichever is later. It has nearly 250 faculty members and more than 6,000 students enrolled in fourteen bachelor's and in eleven master's degree programs through nine engineering departments. Its facilities house more than 80 classrooms, laboratories and work spaces occupying more than 160,000 square feet. Cal Poly has one of the "most recognized engineering programs in the country" and, with nearly 6,000 students, it is also the largest engineering college in Southern California, the second largest college of engineering in the California State University system, and the seventeenth largest engineering college in the United States. The School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS) at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. is a technical school which specializes in engineering, technology, communications, and transportation. The school is located on the main campus of the George Washington University and offers both undergraduate and graduate programs.

The Irwin and Joan Jacobs School of Engineering is an undergraduate and graduate-level engineering school offering BS, BA, MEng, MS, MAS and PhD degrees at the University of California, San Diego in San Diego, California. The Jacobs School of Engineering is the youngest engineering school of the nation's top ten, the largest by enrollment in the University of California system, as well as the largest engineering school on the West Coast and the ninth-largest in the country. More than thirty faculty have been named members of the National Academies. The current dean of the Jacobs School of Engineering is Albert P. Pisano.

The Polytechnic is the traditional name for institutions of higher education in Greece, dealing with engineering at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. There are currently two polytechnics that operate as independent (public) universities and five polytechnic schools that belong to universities. They consist mainly of Engineering departments and their undergraduate programs have a duration of 5 years (full-time). The legal framework of their operation is the same as the one of the universities, and their graduates have equal rights with the graduates of public Greek universities. Greek polytechnics are also referred to as Technical Universities.

The Charles W. Davidson College of Engineering is one of the seven colleges under San Jose State University (SJSU) in downtown San Jose, California, United States. This college is located on the northeastern side of the main campus, which is in the heart of the Silicon Valley. The vast majority of their resources are located in a four-story building known as the "Engineering Building". The college is named after Charles W. Davidson, who donated US$15 million to the formerly known SJSU College of Engineering. Charles W. Davidson is a civil engineer for the City of San Jose and a real estate broker for companies he founded, such as DKD Property Management and L&D Construction.
