The Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is one of the two entities composing Bosnia and Herzegovina, the other being Republika Srpska. The Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina consists of ten autonomous cantons with their own governments and legislatures.
The ten cantons of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, one of the two political entities of Bosnia and Herzegovina, are its federal units with a high level of autonomy. The cantons were established by the Law on Federal Units (Cantons) on 12 June 1996 as a result of the Washington Agreement of 1994 between the representatives of the Bosnian Croats and Bosniaks.
The Una-Sana Canton is one of the ten cantons of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina entity within Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is located in the northwest of the country and has been named after the rivers Una and Sana. The center of the cantonal government is Bihać. The canton is bordered by Republika Srpska from east, Canton 10 from southeast, and Croatia from south, west, and north.
Bosanska Krupa is a municipality located in the Una-Sana Canton of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, an entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. As of 2013, it has a population of 29,659 inhabitants.
The Una is a border river between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia and a right tributary of the Sava river. It is part of the Black Sea drainage basin, and its watershed has a size of 10,200 km2 (3,900 sq mi), of which 8,080 km2 (3,120 sq mi) belongs to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and 2,120 km2 (820 sq mi) to Croatia. The total length of the river is 212 km (132 mi). The source of the river is located in the town of Donja Suvaja in Croatia, and its mouth is located near the town of Jasenovac, on the border with Bosnia. The largest right tributaries are the Krka, Unac, Krušnica and Sana rivers, and the largest left tributary is the Klokot river. Its longest headwater is the Unac river. The largest and most important city located on the river is Bihać. Other, important cities and towns are Bosanska Krupa, Bosanski Novi and Bosanska Kostajnica. The river is characterized by a multitude of waterfalls, rapids, karst springs and relatively untouched nature. A large part of the upper river is part of the Una National Park.
Sanski Most is a town and municipality located in the Una-Sana Canton of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, an entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is situated on the banks of the Sana River in northwestern Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the region of Bosanska Krajina, between Prijedor and Ključ. As of 2013, it has a population of 41,475 inhabitants.
Ostrovica is a village named after a small river in the Una-Sana Canton of Bosnia and Herzegovina, located on a hill near the town of Kulen Vakuf.
Bužim is a town and municipality located in Una-Sana Canton of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, an entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is situated in the most northwestern Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Strbacki buk waterfall is a 25 m high waterfall on the Una River. It is situated in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is part of Una National Park.
Tržac is a village in the municipality of Cazin, Una-Sana Canton, Bosanska Krajina region, western Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Hamdija Lipovača is a Bosnian politician. He served as the Prime Minister of Una-Sana Canton from 1 February 2011 until his forced resignation three years later, following the violent protests and riots in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Lipovača was also the canton's Minister of Police. He previously served as the mayor of Bihać for six years beginning in 2004.
Labour Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina is a political party in Bosnia and Herzegovina based in Velika Kladuša, Una-Sana Canton in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which serves as its main base. The party was founded in 2013 by Elvira Abdić-Jelenović, a daughter of Fikret Abdić, an influential politician and businessman from the region and convicted war criminal.
Jasmin Emrić is a Bosnian politician serving as member of the national House of Representatives since 2014. From 2000 to 2008, he served as mayor of his hometown Bužim.
The 10 Cantons of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina are each governed by directly elected parliaments called assemblies. Each assembly is elected by at-large party-list proportional representation with open lists every four years at the same time as federal and entity elections.

The People's European Union of Bosnia and Herzegovina is a political party in Bosnia and Herzegovina, formed by the merger of the Party of Democratic Activity (A-SDA) and the Independent Bosnian-Herzegovinian List (NBL) on 27 February 2021 in Sarajevo. The president of the now former A-SDA and the new president of the NES is Nermin Ogrešević. The party was announced by the municipal mayor of Stari Grad Sarajevo and former NBL leader, Ibrahim Hadžibajrić, as an "enlargement" of the political scene. The NES is currently part of the government of Una-Sana Canton.
The Independent Bosnian-Herzegovinian List (NBL) was a political party in Bosnia and Herzegovina based in Sarajevo. The party was created by a group of mayors who were elected in the 2016 Bosnian local elections.
Movement for Modern and Active Krajina is a political party in Bosnia and Herzegovina founded by Šuhret Fazlić, mayor of Bihać, in 2018. It aims to improve the economy, healthcare and education, and improve the political strength of the Bosanska Krajina and Una-Sana Canton as a whole, which it feels has been neglected by the government since Bosnia and Herzegovina's independence in the 1990s.
