Centene Corporation is an American for-profit healthcare company based in St. Louis, Missouri, which is an intermediary for government-sponsored and privately insured healthcare programs. Centene ranked No. 25 on the 2023 Fortune 500.

CVS Health Corporation is an American for-profit healthcare company that owns CVS Pharmacy, a retail pharmacy chain; CVS Caremark, a pharmacy benefits manager; and Aetna, a health insurance provider, among many other brands. The company is the world's second largest healthcare company, behind UnitedHealth Group. In 2023, the company was ranked 64th in the Forbes Global 2000.

The Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare, Inc. (CAQH) is a non-profit organization incorporated in California as a mutual benefit corporation. It was first incorporated under the name Coalition for Affordable, Quality Healthcare, Inc., and then renamed the Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare, Inc. on August 8, 2002. It is based in Washington, D.C. Previously a 501(c)(6) tax-exempt organization, CAQH changed its tax status in 2016, although it remains a non-profit.

Mark T. Bertolini is an American businessman who is currently the CEO of Oscar Health, a tech-driven health insurance company located in New York. He was the co-CEO of Bridgewater Associates, one of the world's largest hedge funds, and was previously the CEO of Aetna, a Fortune 50 diversified health care benefits company with over $60 billion in 2015 revenue. Bertolini assumed the role of CEO on November 29, 2010 and of chairman on April 8, 2011, until Aetna was sold to CVS on November 28, 2018.

After starting his business career with the insurance company Humana Inc. in the 1970s, he served as Humana's president and chief operating officer (COO) from 1993 until 1996. In 1997 he was appointed president and chief executive officer (CEO) of Community Health Systems (CHS), also taking on the role of chairman in 2001. As head of the company, he has overseen projects such as the 2007 acquisition of Triad Hospitals, which came close to doubling the size of CHS. In 2014 he led the US$7.6 billion acquisition of Health Management Associates, which made CHS the largest for-profit hospital operator in the United States..

James A. Rechtin is an American business executive. Since July 2024, he has been chief executive officer (CEO) of Humana, a healthcare company.
