List of rider deaths in motorcycle speedway

Last updated

This article lists riders who have died competing at motorcycle speedway events. During the mid-2000s air fences were installed at most oval cinder/shale tracks, which consequently and significantly reduced deaths and serious injury.

Alan Hunt was an international motorcycle speedway rider who qualified for the Speedway World Championship final four times. He earned 26 caps for the England national speedway team and 3 caps for the South African national speedway team.

Brandon Stadium, also known as Coventry Stadium, is located 6 miles east of Coventry in Brandon, Warwickshire, England. It was the home of the Coventry Bees motorcycle speedway team. It also hosted BriSCA F1 Stock Car Racing on the 1st Saturday of the month from April through to November. From 1978 until early 2016 it intermittently hosted greyhound racing. As of 2023, it is closed and has become dilapidated after several fires, including an arson attack in 2022.

Preston were a British speedway team that existed from 1929 to 1932 and raced at Farringdon Park.

The 1931 Southern League was the third season of motorcycle speedway in the United Kingdom for Southern British teams, and its final season before amalgamation of the Southern and Northern Leagues. The Northern teams also had their third season known as the 1931 Speedway Northern League.

The Midland Cup was a motorcycle speedway competition held in the United Kingdom from 1951 to 1987, that was restricted to teams from the Midlands area.
