Savaii Island in the Samoan Islands chain

Savaiʻi is the largest and highest island in Samoa and the Samoan Islands chain. The island is the fifth largest in Polynesia, behind the two main islands of New Zealand and the Hawaiian Islands of Hawaii and Maui.

Education in Samoa is compulsory for children aged 5-years to 14-years or until the completion of Year 8. It consists mainly of public schools administered by the government and villages. There are 9 secondary schools and 48 primary schools in Savai'i. [1]

Matautu is the name of different villages in Samoa. Places named Matautu are found on the two largest islands, Upolu and Savai'i.

Patamea is a village on the island of Savai'i in Samoa. While most villages on Savai'i are situated near the sea, Patamea is situated inland, away from the coast. The village is in the Gaga'emauga political district near the central north coast of the island.

Vaisala is a small village on the northwest coast of Savai'i island in Samoa. The village lies within the political district of Vaisigano.

Vaipouli College

Vaipouli College is a secondary school on Savai'i island in Samoa. The college is co-educational, open to male and female students from Year 9 - 13. The college is also known as Salafai College, in reference to Salafai, another name for the island of Savai'i.

Savai'i Public Library is the only public library on the island of Savai'i, the largest and westernmost island in Samoa.

The Samoa Public Library, also known as the Nelson Memorial Public Library, is the main public library in Samoa.

The levels of education in the Faroe Islands are primary, secondary and higher education. Most institutions are funded by the state; there are few private schools in the country. Education is compulsory for 9 years between the ages of 7 and 16.
