Masterpiece is an Iban hard rock band from Sibu, Sarawak, Malaysia. Originally formed in 2003, the band features Depha Masterpiece (vocals), Kennedy Edwin (guitar-vocals), Willy Edwin (lead guitar), Watt Marcus (bass), Harold Vincent (drums), Valentine Jimmy (keyboards) and Roslee Qadir (keyboards). [1] [2] The band have recorded songs for four studio albums and a number of songs for various collaborative albums. Masterpiece released their debut studio album Merindang Ke Bintang in 2009 and was re-issued through Panggau Buluh Pengerindu Records the following year. Five of songs from Merindang Ke Bintang were written by Depha, while "Kumang Mimpi" is co-written by Roslee Qadir, Kennedy Edwin and Willy Edwin. [3] [4]
In 2013, the band released their second full-length studio album Rock & Roll , which once again credited Depha for songwriting. The album was accompanied by music videos directed by Cosmas Moses Alexander. [5] The following year, Masterpiece released Ngap Sayot through an independent music label, Do Records Entertainment, which also crediting Roslee Qadir for his lyrics on the Sarawak Malay version of "Ngap Sayot". [6] [7] Masterpiece returned in 2016 with their fourth album Ngarap Ka Nuan Nikal Pulai , songwriting for which was credited entirely to Depha. [8] [9] On 5 August 2017, the band released “Perecha” as the second single from their upcoming album. [10] The band released their fifth studio album, Ensera Paragon in August 2018 through their first major label, Warner Music Malaysia. [11]

The Ibans or Sea Dayaks are a branch of the Dayak peoples on the island of Borneo in South East Asia. Dayak is a title given by the westerners to the local people of Borneo island. It is believed that the term "Iban" was originally an exonym used by the Kayans, who – when they initially came into contact with them – referred to the Sea Dayaks in the upper Rajang river region as the "Hivan".

The album is the band's most popular album, receiving the Album of the Year award at the 2010 Dayak Music Awards in Kuching, Sarawak.

The album receiving the 'Album of the Year' award at the 2016 Dayak Music Awards while the lead single "Ngarap Ka Nuan Nikal Pulai" has won the 'Song of the Year' award at the 2016 ACSJ Music Awards.

"Kaban" is a single recorded by the iban rock band Masterpiece. The song was officially released on October 19, 2016 through YouTube via their independent label, Masterjam Studio. The song was released as a digital download single on the same day. In an interview with The Borneo Post on December 8, the band had announced that "Kaban" is the promotional single for their upcoming fifth studio album which planned to be released in 2017.

Willy Edwin, better known by his stage name Will Masterpiece, is a Malaysian rock musician best known as the co-founder and the primary lead guitarist of the Bornean hard rock band Masterpiece, with whom he achieved mainstream success in the late 2000s. Edwin co-founded Masterpiece, formerly known as Masterjam with his brother Kennedy Edwin in 2003, and has since released five studio albums with the band. Like the other left-handed guitarist, Edwin had the instrument strung upside-down with the high E on the top.
Kennedy Edwin is an Iban language Malaysian musician who serves as the rhythm and vocals for hard rock band Masterpiece. Along with his brother Willy Edwin, he is one of the founding members of Masterpiece, and has since released five studio albums with the band.
Watt Marcus, is a Malaysian rock musician best known as the bass guitarist of the Bornean hard rock band Masterpiece. Marcus joined Masterpiece in 2003 as the band's bassist, with whom he achieved mainstream success in the late 2000s.
Siku Dalam Seribu is a song written by Depha Masterpiece and recorded as a duet between him and singer, Allyssa Joanne or better known as Lyssa Jean. The lyrics essentially describes about a woman who learned to accept and open up to a new relationship after being hurt. She was told by the man, that she may not be his first love, but he promised her solemnly that he will love her unconditionally.
