Yerevan is the capital and largest city of Armenia, as well as one of the world's oldest continuously inhabited cities. Situated along the Hrazdan River, Yerevan is the administrative, cultural, and industrial center of the country, as its primate city. It has been the capital since 1918, the fourteenth in the history of Armenia and the seventh located in or around the Ararat Plain. The city also serves as the seat of the Araratian Pontifical Diocese, which is the largest diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church and one of the oldest dioceses in the world.
Football Club Ararat Yerevan, commonly known as Ararat Yerevan, is an Armenian professional football club based in Yerevan that plays in the Armenian Premier League.
Mother Armenia is a female personification of Armenia. Her most public visual rendering is a monumental statue in Victory Park overlooking the capital city of Yerevan, Armenia.
Ararat is a town in the Ararat Municipality of the Ararat Province of Armenia, located on the Yerevan-Nakhchivan highway, 42 km (26 mi) southeast of the capital Yerevan and 19 km (12 mi) south of the provincial centre Artashat. In the 2011 census, the population of the town was 20,235. As per the 2016 official estimate, the population is around 20,300. In the 2022 census, the population of the town was 16,592.
Republic Square is the central town square in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. It consists of two sections: an oval roundabout and a trapezoid-shaped section which contains a pool with musical fountains. The square is surrounded by five major buildings built in pink and yellow tuff in the neoclassical style with extensive use of Armenian motifs. This architectural ensemble includes the Government House, the History Museum and the National Gallery, Armenia Marriott Hotel and two buildings that formerly housed the ministries of Foreign Affairs and Transport and Communications. The square was originally designed by Alexander Tamanian in 1924. The construction of most of the buildings was completed by the 1950s; the last building—the National Gallery—was completed in 1977.
The Armenian Gampr is an Armenian breed of flock guardian dog native to the Armenian Highlands. It falls within the Ovcharka group of livestock guardian dogs, which can be found throughout the Transcaucasus area. It was recognised in 2011 by the International Kennel Union in Moscow, under the guidance of the Armenian Kennel Club, which had developed the breed standard in the 1990s.
Ara Shiraz was an Armenian sculptor. His mother and father were the poets Silva Kaputikyan and Hovhannes Shiraz.
The Yerevan trolleybus system forms part of the public transport network in Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia. Since the closure of the Gyumri trolleybus system in 2005, it has been Armenia’s only trolleybus system.
The Armenian eternity sign or Arevakhach is an ancient Armenian national symbol and a symbol of the national identity of the Armenian people. It is one of the most common symbols in Armenian architecture, carved on khachkars and on walls of churches.
Dalma Garden Mall is an Armenian enclosed shopping mall. It is located near the Tsitsernakaberd hill in the Armenian capital Yerevan. It was the first mall to open in Armenia.
The Circular Park ; also known as the Youth Park, is a public park in the Kentron district of the Armenian capital Yerevan. It starts with the Cathedral of Saint Gregory at the south on Tigran Mets street, and ends up with the Poplavok lake at the north near Mashtots Avenue. The park lies along Khanjyan, Yervand Kochar, Alex Manoogian, Moskovian and Isahakyan streets, forming a half-circular shaped park around the eastern part of downtown Yerevan. The park has an approximate length of 2500 metres and an average width of 120 metres.
Lovers' Park is a public park in Yerevan, Armenia, located on Baghramyan Avenue. It occupies an area of 2.5 hectares in the central Kentron District of the city. The park was entirely renovated between 2005 and 2008 and reopened in November 2008 by the efforts of benefactor Albert Boghossian, head of Boghossian Foundation.
Tumanyan Park is a public park in the Ajapnyak district of Yerevan, Armenia. It is located on Halabyan Street in the gorge of Hrazdan River, between the Great Bridge of Hrazdan and the Tumo Center for Creative Technologies. It was opened in 1970 and occupies an area of 7 hectares on the right bank of Hrazdan River. It was opened and named after the writer and poet Hovhannes Tumanyan on the 100th anniversary of his birth.
The May Uprising was a coup d'état attempt by the Armenian Bolsheviks that started in Alexandropol on May 10, 1920. It was eventually suppressed by the Armenian government on May 14 and its leaders executed. Although the revolt failed, Armenia was taken over by the soviets after the 11th Army of Soviet Russia invaded the country in November 1920 and the Turkish Nationalists occupied the western half of the country. The revolt and its executed leaders were praised during the Soviet period from 1920 until the late 1980s, when the Karabakh movement began and anti-Soviet sentiment rose in Armenia – The revolt remains a controversial topic in Armenia.

Radisson Blu Hotel, is a hotel in Yerevan, Armenia. It is operated by Radisson Hotels under the Radisson Blu brand. The hotel was originally opened in 2005 as the Golden Palace Yerevan. However, the hotel had been entirely renovated and expanded between 2014 and 2016. It was eventually reopened in July 2016 as the Radisson Blu Hotel, Yerevan.
David of Sassoun is a copper equestrian statue depicting David of Sassoun in Yerevan, Armenia. Erected by the sculptor and artist Yervand Kochar in 1959, it depicts the protagonist of the Armenian national epic Daredevils of Sassoun. It is placed on a rock-like basalt pedestal in the middle of a large square in front of Yerevan's main railway station.

Monument is a neighbourhood in the Kanaker-Zeytun District of the Armenian capital Yerevan. The name of the neighborhood originates from the towering monument inside of Victory Park, which can be seen throughout large parts of Yerevan. The original monument at this site was a 17 meter tall Stalin, unveiled in 1950, which was replaced with a statue of Mother Armenia in 1967, which is still Yerevan's tallest monument.
