The Little Brick Church, also known as Virginia's Chapel and William Tompkins Church, is a historic church that sits along US Route 60 in Cedar Grove, Kanawha County, West Virginia. It was built in 1853, and is a small brick structure on a stone foundation. The building was nearly square when built, but lengthened within a few years. It features a louvered octagonal cupola, with finial. In 1912 a bell tower was added to the church. A mural behind the pulpit was painted by Forrest Hull in the early 1900s. The Chapel was occupied during the American Civil War by both sides. Originally a non-denominational chapel, it was for some time used exclusively by a Methodist congregation. [2]

On November 2, 1989, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places. It was also listed as a contributing property in the Downtown Charleston Historic District in 2006.
Garnet High School, also known as Garnet Career Center and Garnet Adult Education Center, is a historic African-American high school in Charleston, West Virginia. The school was established when "twelve African-American students in Kanawha County passed an entrance examination for high school level course work." It was named after Henry Highland Garnet, who was a former slave that became the United States’ ambassador to Liberia. It is a three-story, brick structure, constructed in 1928-29 from the plans of the prestigious Charleston architectural firm of Warne, Tucker, Silling and Hutchison, and dedicated December 2 to 4, 1929. The façade features a limestone-arched entrance containing two sets of double doors, transom light, and a limestone tympanum. Garnet was one of three high schools in the Kanawha Valley built for African-American students. It closed as a high school in 1956, following integration of the public schools, but has been used as a public resource building since that time.

Good Shepherd Church, also known as Good Shepherd Mission, is a historic Roman Catholic church at SR 61 SW of East Bank Coalburg, Kanawha County, West Virginia. It was built about 1880, and consists of a five bay, one-story ell with a steeply pitched front gabled roof. It sits on a high raised limestone foundation. Also on the property is an ornate Celtic cross that rests on earth from County Kerry, Ireland, and was placed there in 1912. The church is significant in part due to its association with Irish and Italian immigrant miners during the early years of the church.

Glen Ferris Inn, also known as Stockton's Inn, Stockton's Tavern, and Hawkins's Hotel, is a historic hotel located on the bank of the Kanawha River overlooking Kanawha Falls at Glen Ferris, Fayette County, West Virginia. It may have been built as early as 1815. It is a "T"-shaped brick building in two sections. One section is a three-story, painted brick dwelling. The second is a two-story, red brick wing measuring 140 feet by 40 feet. The building features a wraparound porch supported by 13 stuccoed brick columns. In the 19th century, the building was a stagecoach stop and served as a Union quartermaster's depot during the American Civil War. In the first half of the 20th century, it housed managers, supervisors, and workers involved in developing the areas manufacturing and hydro-electric capacity.
"Cedar Grove", also known as the William Tompkins House, is a historic home located at Cedar Grove, Kanawha County, West Virginia. It was built in 1844, and is a two-story, five bay, "double pile" rectangular brick house. When built, it had upper and lower verandas across the rear, but these were enclosed about 1892. It features a small entrance portico with a second floor balcony.
Booker T. Washington High School, also known as Grant Junior High School and Grant Elementary, is a historic high school building located near London, Kanawha County, West Virginia. It was built in 1925, and is a two-story, "L"-shaped wire brick building with a rear section in tile block and brick. It is in the Streamline Moderne style. It was built as a high school for African American children during the period of segregated educational facilities. After desegregation in 1956, it was used as a junior high school, then an elementary school. The school closed in June 1986, and is now used as a community center. It was one of two early high schools for African Americans in Kanawha County.
Chilton House is a historic home located at St. Albans, Kanawha County, West Virginia. It was built in 1857, and is a "T"-shaped brick dwelling in the Gothic Revival style. The roof structure has a total of seven gables, three in the head and four in the leg of its "T" shape.
William E. Mohler House, also known as "Hill Grove," is a historic home located at St. Albans, Kanawha County, West Virginia. It was built about 1900, and is a 2 1/2-story, frame rectangular dwelling with a corner tower in the Queen Anne style. It sits on a stone foundation. It has a complex roof of multiple gables, with four colossal paneled brick chimneys. The upper most floor houses a ballroom. It was built by William E. Mohler, president of the area's largest lumber company. The property was sold for use as a church in 1965, and occupied by Covenant Presbyterian Church when listed in 1983. In 1992, Covenant Presbyterian Church moved to Nitro, West Virginia.
"Oakland," also known as the James M. Stephenson House, is a home located in Parkersburg, Wood County, West Virginia. Although a slaveholder and sympathizing with the Confederacy, Stephenson was also married to the sister of Unionist Arthur Boreman, and allowed then Union Army Col. James B. Steedman to use his grove nearby during the American Civil War. However, Union cavalry units occupied this his mansion for a time nonetheless, and damaged furnishings as well as the home and garden.
