Lovekiller is the fifth studio album by Swedish singer and songwriter Darin. It was released by Universal Music digitally on 16 August 2010 and physically on 18 August. [1] The record is Darin's first album since parting with Sony Music after four years with the label and it became his fifth top ten album on the Swedish Album chart. The album includes the song "You're Out of My Life", Darin's entry in Melodifestivalen 2010.
In September 2009, Darin signed a new record deal with Universal Music after four years with Sony Music. His first release with Universal was a cover of Coldplay's "Viva la Vida" which Darin performed live at Idol on 8 October 2009 [2] the song was released digitally and peaked at number 1 on the Swedish singles chart.
On 3 November 2009, it was announced that Darin would be participating in Melodifestivalen 2010 , [3] with the mid-tempo ballad "You're Out of My Life" written by Tony Nilsson and Henrik Janson. [4] Darin came 4th in the final. The song was released in February 2010 and peaked at number three on the Swedish Single Chart.
On 1 June 2010, Universal Music Sweden announced Darin soon would release his single "Lovekiller" and his fifth studio album, his first with Universal, on 25 August 2010. [5] Darin began a 17-date Sommarturné (Summer Tour) in Sweden on 4 June 2010, starting in Karlshamn, [6] during which he performed songs from the new album.
In June 2010, Darin was asked by Swedish broadcaster SVT to record a written song, "Can't Stop Love", for the Royal Wedding of Princess Victoria and Daniel Westling. Darin performed the song on a rooftop in Stockholm during the live broadcast of the wedding on SVT. The song was released digitally on the day of the wedding, 19 June 2010. [7]
On 13 July 2010, a press release was published by Universal Music Sweden revealing the name, track listing and cover art for the new album and also that the album would be released earlier than originally planned on 18 August. [8] Also mentioned in the press release are the producers of the album, Tony Nilsson, Arnthor Birgisson, Henrik Jansson and Darin.

Anna Jenny Charlotte Perrelli is a Swedish singer and television host. She was the winner of the 1999 Melodifestivalen and subsequently that year's Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Take Me to Your Heaven".
Agnes Emilia Carlsson, known mononymously as Agnes, is a Swedish recording artist. She rose to fame as the winner of Idol 2005, the second season of the Swedish Idol series. She was then signed to Sony Music, through which she released her self-titled debut album, Agnes, and follow-up, Stronger, both of which topped the Swedish Top 60 Albums Chart. In early 2008, it was announced that Agnes had parted ways with her record label, and was now signed to small independent label Roxy Recordings. Released on 28 October 2008, her third album, Dance Love Pop, reached number five in Sweden, 70 in Austria, 38 in France, 45 in Switzerland and 13 in the United Kingdom. With 200,000 albums sold worldwide this is her most successful album, 50,000 albums were sold in France, 40,000 in Sweden. Its first two singles, "On and On" and "Release Me" became international hits, reaching the top-ten in charts worldwide. "Release Me" topped the Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs and peaked at three in the United Kingdom, selling over 900,000 copies worldwide.
Daniel Gabriel Alessandro Saucedo Grzechowski, known professionally as Danny Saucedo or simply Danny, is a Swedish singer and songwriter. He rose to fame as one of the finalists in Idol 2006, the Swedish version of Idol, where he reached the top six.
Sanna Viktoria Nielsen is a Swedish singer and television presenter. On her seventh attempt, she won Melodifestivalen in 2014 with the song "Undo" and so represented Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen, Denmark, finishing in 3rd place overall. Sanna was one of the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 commentators for Sweden and hosted Melodifestivalen 2015 along with comedian Robin Paulsson. She was announced as the new presenter for the sing-along show Allsång på Skansen for the summer of 2016. She hosted Eurovision The Party at the Tele2 Arena for the Eurovision Song Contest 2016.
Måns Petter Albert Sahlén Zelmerlöw is a Swedish pop singer and television presenter. He took part in Idol 2005, eventually finishing fifth, won the first season of Let's Dance, and scored a hit with his 2007 song "Cara Mia", which was his entry in that year's Melodifestivalen. Zelmerlöw was the host of Allsång på Skansen from 2011 to 2013. He participated in Melodifestivalen in 2007, 2009 and won in 2015. Zelmerlöw represented Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 with the song "Heroes", winning the contest with 365 points. Zelmerlöw and Petra Mede co-hosted the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 held in Stockholm.
Ola Nils Håkan Svensson is a Swedish artist and songwriter, known professionally by the mononym Ola until 2014, and as Brother Leo from 2018 to present. Born in Lund, Skåne, his career began in 2005, when he finished eighth on season two of Swedish Idol. Since then, Ola has released four studio albums. Eleven of his singles have reached the top five on the Swedish singles chart, with six achieving number one, and nine attaining gold and platinum certifications. After being signed to Universal Music for many years, Ola founded his own record label Oliniho Records for the Swedish market, keeping distribution arrangements with Sony Music in Europe and internationally. Following a four-year break, he returned in 2018, recording under the stage name Brother Leo for Columbia Records.
E.M.D. was a Swedish boyband consisting of Erik Segerstedt, Mattias Andréasson and Danny Saucedo. All three members had participated on the Swedish version of Idol, with Erik as a finalist and Danny at 6th place on Idol 2006. Mattias was eliminated as the fourth runner-up on Idol 2007.
"Viva la Vida" is a song by British rock band Coldplay. It was written by all members of the band for their fourth album, Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends (2008). The lyrics to the song contain historical and Christian references, and the track is built around a looping string section in unison with a digitally processed piano, with other layers gradually being added as the song builds.
Anna Henrietta Bergendahl is a Swedish singer and songwriter. She took part in Swedish TV4 music program Super Troupers in 2004, and in Idol 2008 where she reached the Final 5 before being eliminated.
Melodifestivalen 2010 was a Swedish song contest held between February and March 2010. It was the selection for the 50th song to represent Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest, and was the 49th edition of Melodifestivalen. Five heats were held in the Swedish cities of Örnsköldsvik, Sandviken, Gothenburg and Malmö, with Örebro hosting the final Andra Chansen round.

The song was first performed in Deltävling 3 of Melodifestivalen in Göteborg on 20 February 2010 where Darin reached second place and progressed to the final on March 13 in Stockholm. The single was released on 28 February 2010. This is Darin's first physical single release since his departure from Sony Music.

Many of his songs have featured in Melodifestivalen and in the Swedish Singles Chart. Nilsson lives with artist and fellow songwriter Mirja Breitholtz.

The song was not released as an official single but due to strong digital downloads of the song upon the release of Darin's album Lovekiller on 18 August 2010, the song entered on Swedish Charts at number 16 on the week of 27 August 2010. The song peaked at number 15 on the third week.
Robin James Olof Stjernberg is a Swedish pop singer, songwriter and producer. He represented Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 on home soil on 18 May 2013 with the song "You". Stjernberg started his career in the boyband What's Up!, and became a contestant in Idol 2011, placing as first runner up in the final. He participated in Eurovision Song Contest 2017 as the songwriter for the song "I Can't Go On" performed by Robin Bengtsson, which ended up in fifth place.
FO&O is a Swedish pop boy band made up of Oscar Enestad, Omar Rudberg and Felix Sandman. Originally established in October 2013 under the name the Fooo, the group changed its name to the Fooo Conspiracy in September 2014. Founding member Oscar "Olly" Molander left the group in November 2016, and the group changed its name for a third time in February 2017, to FO&O.

It won Melodifestivalen 2017 and represented Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017. The song is written by David Kreuger, Hamed "K-One" Pirouzpanah, and Robin Stjernberg.
Hanna Alma Beata Ferm is a Swedish singer. She competed in Idol 2017, where she placed second.
