MLB The Show 24 is a video game based on Major League Baseball developed by San Diego Studio and published by MLB Advanced Media and Sony Interactive Entertainment. It was released on March 19, 2024, for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. [1] [2] [3] It is the nineteenth entry in the MLB: The Show game series and features Vladimir Guerrero Jr. on its cover. [4]

The Playstation 4 and Xbox One versions are digital only.

For the fourth consecutive year, the Xbox versions of the game are available for Xbox Game Pass subscribers at no additional cost.

Alex Miniak returns as public address commentator, with Jon Sciambi and Chris Singleton return as play-by-play commentators. Dan O'Dowd and Sarah Langs serve as commentators in Road to the Show mode.

For the first time in baseball video game history, the game includes a career mode with female players, dubbed Road to the Show: Women Pave Their Way. [5]

Storylines: The Negro Leagues returns in MLB The Show 24, now including Buck Leonard, Josh Gibson, Hank Aaron, and Toni Stone, the first ever woman player to be added to the game [6] , at launch, with more to be added later on. [7] Negro Leagues legends Andy Cooper, Rap Dixon, and Bill Foster have since been added to the game and have their own storylines. [8] A separate Storylines mode will also be dedicated to Derek Jeter's career. [9]

Toni Stone, born as Marcenia Lyle Stone, was an American female professional baseball player who played in predominantly male leagues. In 1953, she became the first woman to play as a regular on an American major-level professional baseball team when she joined the Indianapolis Clowns in the previously all-male Negro leagues. A baseball player from her early childhood, she also played for the San Francisco Sea Lions, the New Orleans Creoles, the Indianapolis Clowns, and the Kansas City Monarchs before retiring from baseball in 1954. Stone was taunted at times by teammates, once being told, "Go home and fix your husband some biscuits", but she was undeterred. It has been widely reported that during an exhibition game in 1953, she hit a single off a fastball pitch delivered by legendary player Satchel Paige, although the claim has failed verification.

<i>Major League Baseball 2K7</i> 2007 video game

Major League Baseball 2K7 is a Major League Baseball licensed baseball simulation video game developed by Kush Games and published by 2K. Released on February 27, 2007, it is the only 2007 MLB licensed game available for the Xbox and Xbox 360. It is also available for the PlayStation Portable, the PlayStation 2 and, for the first time, the PlayStation 3, though its competition came in the form of MLB 07: The Show from 989 Sports. Portable versions for the Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS, and PlayStation Portable were released. Major League Baseball 2K8, or, in shorter terms, MLB 2K8, is an MLB licensed baseball simulation video game co-developed by Blue Castle Games and newly renamed 2K Los Angeles and published by 2K Sports for the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable, Wii, and Xbox 360. It was released on March 4, 2008. A demo was released on Xbox Live Marketplace the next day on March 5 for Canada, United States, and Asian markets and features the 2007 World Series opponents.

Major League Baseball 2K5 is an MLB licensed baseball simulation video game published by 2K. MLB 2K5 is available for PlayStation 2 and Xbox. The previous game in the series made by Sega Sports was ESPN Major League Baseball back in 2004. Unlike the other "2K5" branded sports games, this was published by 2K, making it the first Visual Concepts-developed sports game not to be published by Sega, though Sega's logos are still seen in the background of menus and ballparks. The game included Web Gems instant replays, K-Zone pitching, Slam Zone hitting, and baserunner mode. The game was released in late February 2005 on the PlayStation 2 and Xbox consoles. Vladimir Guerrero Ramos Jr. is a Canadian-Dominican professional baseball first baseman for the Toronto Blue Jays of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his major league debut in April 2019, and he bats and throws right-handed. He is the son of Baseball Hall of Famer Vladimir Guerrero.

The original Majestic Park was one of the first Major League Baseball spring training facilities. The ballpark was located at the corner of Belding Street and Carson Street in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Today, the site is in use by Champion Christian College, National Park College, and travel/tournament baseball and softball. Majestic Park has been renovated by the City of Hot Springs. Babe Ruth, Cy Young, Jackie Robinson and Hank Aaron are among the many who have played at the site.

The fifteenth entry of the MLB: The Show franchise, it was officially released on March 17, but customers that digitally pre-ordered the game were given an early release on March 13. Chicago Cubs infielder Javier Báez is featured as the cover star. The seventeenth entry of the MLB: The Show franchise, it was released on April 5, 2022. Los Angeles Angels two-way player and 2021 American League MVP Shohei Ohtani is featured as the cover star. A special manga style art by Takashi Okazaki of Shohei Ohtani is featured on the cover art for the MVP and Digital Deluxe editions of MLB The Show 22.

New York Yankees player Jazz Chisholm Jr. is featured as the cover star, while The Captain Edition of the game features retired New York Yankees player Derek Jeter.
