Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology (MAIT) is located in Rohini, Delhi. The institute is approved by AICTE and affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. [2]

History

MAIT was established in 1999 by Maharaja Agrasen Technical Education Society which is a group of known Industrialists, Businessman, Professionals and Philanthropists to promote to quality education in the field of Technology. [2]

Dr. Nand Kishore Garg is the founder and Chancellor and chief advisor of the MAIT and his contribution is in founding and development of many institutes such as Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management Studies (MAIMS) Delhi and Maharaja Agrasen University Himachal Pradesh.

The institute has also got accreditation status for many programs by National Board of Accreditation (NBA).

MAIT has a campus of approx. 40.5 acres which is located in Rohini, Delhi. The College is well connected by the roads and good bus service by Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC). The nearest Metro Station from Campus is Rithala Metro station of red line of DMRC.

The campus is composed of 10 blocks including the management blocks as it shares the campus with MAIMS. [2]

Admissions

For admission in BTech at MAIT, one has to appear in Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) MAINS, which is conducted for admission to various engineering colleges and courses all over the country every year. Earlier for admission into MAIT in first year  candidate had to give  common entrance test (CET) which was conducted by the GGSIPU. Whereas CET is still conducted for lateral entry candidates which seek admission in 2nd year of the BTech directly and the MBA admission is also done by the marks obtained in CET by the candidates.

R&D and Project Lab | Department of CSE

R&D and project lab facilitates the support and development of projects, products and technology. The lab is much helpful to enrich research-based skills in the students.

e-yantra Lab | Department of CSE

It is an IoT lab which has been setup with to encourage students to learn with IOT technology. Internet of Things represents an ideal basis for a wide--‐ranging and rigorous introduction to computing, from algorithms to networks, from hardware architectures to big data. Using the Internet of Things as a foundation for teaching computer science also encourages a participative and collaborative pedagogic approach.

e-Yantra – a project in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), IIT Bombay – is a flagship project of MHRD through the National Mission on Education through ICT (NMEICT)  to spread Embedded systems and Robotics education in colleges across India. It is designed as a scalable and sustainable approach that addresses infrastructure creation and teacher training – to create an eco-system at the colleges to impart effective engineering education.

R&D lab | Department of ECE

The Innovative Research Laboratory (IRL). It has two advanced servers and 8 computer systems with latest configuration also there are two advanced simulators, one is Silvaco ATLAS 3D device simulator and the other one is Visual TCAD device simulator. The students are working on various devices such as:- Junction-less Double Surrounding Gate (JLDSG) MOSFET, Gate Engineered Gate Stack Schottky Barrier Gate All Around MOSFET and Junction-less Accumulation Mode Cylindrical Surrounding Gate MOSFET. There have been numerous publications and innovations in terms of patents and journals, from this laboratory.

Techsurge and Mridang

MAIT host its Technical and cultural fest with the name of Techsurge and Mridang which is Organized every year for 3 days. It hosts events and various. In 2016

The Tech and cultural festival of MAIT, Techsurge and Mridang is held every year in March. Techsurge and Mridang plays host to a variety of events and activities in sports dance art drama and technical contests. On the last day of event there is a EDM Night and a star show is organized. In the past Star's performances has been given by renowned artistes like Hardy Sandhu in 2016, Sandeep Brar, V Ranjha and others.

International Organization of Software Developers (IOSD) MAIT organizes Impulse - which includes various coding events and online gaming contests every year.

  • Funk in Motion - The Western Dance Team of Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology performs in various events all around the year with National Level Dance Competitions benchmarking the students' perseverance at BITS Pilani, IIT DELHI, HT-CITY Youth Nexus, K-POP (Korea), Bailamos Underground Festival.
