Bhai Parmanand Institute of Business Studies (BPIBS) is a government [1] higher education institute located in New Delhi, India. It grants various postgraduate and undergraduate programmes, being affiliated to Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU). [2] The institute was established in the year 1965 by the Government of the NCT of Delhi and it was named after Sikh Martyr, Bhai Parmanand in 1986. The institute is approved by the Directorate of Training and Technical Education [1] and by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). [3] It is also ISO 9001:2015 certified. [4]

History

The institute was established in 1965 as a unit under the polytechnic of technical education department. [5] In 1972 the institute was given independent institute status and renamed Institute of Commercial Practice. [5] It 1986 it was renamed Bhai Parmanand Institute of Business Studies, after the Sikh Martyr, Bhai Parmanand. [5]

Campus

The main campus is located at Shakarpur, Delhi in an area of 8.5 acres allotted by the Delhi Development Authority. [6] The campus is shared with Ambedkar Institute of Technology,[ citation needed ] formally known as the Ambedkar Polytechnic. [7] [ failed verification ] On Shakarpur campus the Govt. of NCT of Delhi running two campuses, Bhai Parmanand Institute of Business Studies and Ambedkar Institute of Technology since 1987[ citation needed ] and imparting professional education to more than 1500 students.[ citation needed ]

The Indian Institute of Planning and Management (IIPM) was an unaccredited institute headquartered in New Delhi, which previously had 18 branches across India. The institute has been widely criticized for false advertisements and fraudulent practices. After several controversies, the school's Honorary Dean Arindam Chaudhuri decided to shut down all campuses across India, except the one in Delhi. Founded in 1973, the institute used to offer undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes in national economic planning and entrepreneurship, and international and fellowship programmes. Its executive education programmes include non-credit courses and visits to foreign business schools. IIPM is not accredited by UGC or All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and is not affiliated with the public Indian Institutes of Management.

Ambedkar University Delhi Public funded university in Delhi, India

Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University Delhi, formerly Bharat Ratna Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University Delhi and Ambedkar University Delhi, and simply AUD, is a state university established by the Government of the NCT of Delhi through an Act of the Delhi Legislature. Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology, established in 1984, is oldest engineering college in Port Blair, in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India. The Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University, or DSEU, is a collegiate public state university located in New Delhi, India. It was established in 2020 by an Act of the Legislative Assembly of the National Capital Territory of Delhi. It is recognised as a State University by the University Grants Commission (UGC). DSEU offers 15 diploma, 18 undergraduate and 2 postgraduate courses, and has a total of 13 campus in Delhi. The Lieutenant Governor of Delhi serves as the University chancellor.
