Delhi Division is the only administrative and revenue division in the Delhi, India which consists of 11 districts. [1] [2] Civil Lines in Central Delhi district is the headquarters of the Delhi division. [3]

Delhi Division is headed by an IAS officer of the rank of Divisional Commissioner (Principal Secretary of Revenue). [4] [5] [6] Each of these district is headed by a District Magistrate (DM), also called Deputy Commissioner (DC), who reports to the Divisional Commissioner of Delhi. [7] [8] [9] The Divisional Commissioner reports to the Chief Secretary of Delhi.

Ashwani Kumar (IAS) is the current Divisional Commissioner of Delhi. [6] [10] Naresh Kumar (IAS) is the Chief Secretary of Delhi. [11] [12]

Deputy Commissioner or Collector-cum-District Magistrate is an union civil service officer of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) cadre, or the State Civil Service (SCS) cadre, who is responsible for general administration of all aspects of Governance and economy, revenue collection, canal revenue collection and law & order maintenance of a District in addition to many other important roles. The post of Deputy Commissioner is a highly acclaimed post with high prestige among the people throughout India. In fact, according to some states' Warrant of Precedence, the DCs are kept at the 12th Article of Warrant alongside Brigadier or equivalent ranks in the armed forces, DIGs of police and District and Sessions judges within their jurisdiction. The Collector cum District Magistrate comes under the general supervision of divisional commissioners wherever the latter post exists. India has 748 districts as of 2021. Senior officers from state civil services can also be appointed as DC or DM. Generally, an IAS Officer becomes DC or DM after 5/6 years of his service. However, state public service officers in general takes minimum 15 years to 18 years to become DM or DC.

The All India Services (AIS) comprises two of the union civil services group 'A' gazetted designations known as Indian Administrative Service and Indian Police Service and one of the union natural resources services group 'A' gazetted designations known as the Indian Forest Service. A unique feature of the All India Services is that the members of these services are recruited by the centre, but their services are placed under various State cadres, and they have the ability to serve both under the State and under the centre. Because of the federal polity of the country, this is considered one of the tools that makes union government stronger than state governments. Officers of these three services comply to the All India Services Rules relating to pay, conduct, leave, various allowances etc.

The Government of Uttar Pradesh is the subnational government of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh with the governor as its appointed constitutional head of the state by the President of India. The Governor of Uttar Pradesh is appointed for a period of five years and appoints the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and their council of ministers, who are vested with the executive powers of the state. The governor remains a ceremonial head of the state, while the chief minister and their council are responsible for day-to-day government functions.

Ajit Kumar Seth is an Indian civil servant who was the 30th Cabinet Secretary of the Republic of India. He is a 1974 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer from Uttar Pradesh Cadre. Upon retirement from the post of Cabinet Secretary, Ajit Kumar Seth was appointed as Chairman of Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB).

Anshu Prakash is a 1986 batch civil servant of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) cadre of Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram-Union Territories (AGMUT) cadre. Anup Chandra Pandey is a retired 1984-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer belonging to the Uttar Pradesh cadre. He currently is the Election Commissioner of India. Pandey had also served as the Chief Secretary of the Government of Uttar Pradesh, in addition to serving as the Infrastructure and Industrial Development Commissioner of Uttar Pradesh, before retiring on 31 August 2019. He was Member, National Green Tribunal Oversight Committee, U.P before joining Election Commission.

The Administration of Union Territory of Ladakh(sic) is the governing authority of the Indian union territory of Ladakh and its two districts. The Administration is led by a Lieutenant Governor appointed by the President of India who acts on behalf of the central Government of India. Ladakh does not have an elected legislative assembly. The two districts of Ladakh both elect their own autonomous district council-the Leh Autonomous Hill development council and the Kargil Autonomous Hill development Council, which have competence over a range of domestic affairs.

Usha Sharma is an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer who is currently serving as the Chief Secretary of Rajasthan, having assumed the office in 2020. She is the second woman to hold this post, after Shri. Niranjan Kumar Arya.Sharma is CP Joshi(Speaker, Rajasthan Legislative Assembly) sister-in-law.
