Mangalore Premier League(MPL) is an Indian Twenty20 cricket league established by the Karnataka State Cricket Association(KSCA). [1]

Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) is the governing body of Cricket in the Indian state of Karnataka. The association is affiliated to the Board of Control for Cricket in India and governs the Karnataka cricket team. The association was founded in 1933 and has been affiliated to the BCCI ever since. The KSCA operates the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore, which hosts International level Test, ODI and T20 cricket matches. It also operates a newly built stadium in Hubli and Belagavi.

The IPL players K C Cariappa, Kings Punjab, Shivil Kaushik, Gujarat Lions and Kishore Kamath of Mumbai Indians played in the MPL 2016 which gave a boost to the tournament. [2] All the matches were live telecast in local television channels and the matches from quarter final on wards were live on DD Sports Channel. [1]

Indian Premier League Twenty20 cricket league in India

The Indian Premier League (IPL) is a professional Twenty20 cricket league in India contested during March or April and May of every year by eight teams representing eight different cities in India. The league was founded by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in 2008, and is regarded as the brainchild of Lalit Modi, the founder and former commissioner of the league. Kings XI Punjab Mohali based franchise cricket team of the Indian Premier League

The Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) is a franchise cricket team based in Mohali, Punjab, that plays in the Indian Premier League. Established in 2008, the franchise is jointly owned by Bollywood actress Preity Zinta, Ness Wadia, Mohit Burman, Prithvi Raj Singh Oberoi and Karan Paul. The team plays its home matches at the PCA Stadium, Mohali. Since the 2010 IPL, they have been playing some of their home games at either Dharamsala or Indore.

Teams

The players of KSCA Mangalore zone, born in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Kodagu districts and working or studying in Mangaluru zone, are eligible to take part in the selection trials. The teams from different places of Mangalore zone will be divided into two pools. The participating teams are from Mangalore, Kundapur, Udupi/Manipal, Karkala/Moodbidri, Surthakal/Mulki, Bantwal/Belthangady, Puttur/Sullia, Ullal, Madikeri and Virajpet. [3]

Dakshina Kannada District in Karnataka, India

Dakshina Kannada is a district in the state of Karnataka in India. Sheltered by the Western Ghats on the east and surrounded by the Arabian Sea on the west, Dakshina Kannada receives abundant rainfall during the monsoon. It is bordered by Udupi District to the north, Chikmagalur district to the northeast, Hassan District to the east, Kodagu to the southeast and Kasaragod District in Kerala to the south. The district has three agro-climatic divisions:

  1. Coastal region consisting of Mangalore, Ullal and Mulki taluks
  2. Intermediate area consisting of Moodabidri Bantwal,
  3. Malnad region consisting of Belthangady, Puttur, Kadaba and Sullia taluks.
Udupi district District in Karnataka, India

Udupi district in the Karnataka state of India was created in August 1997. The three northern taluks, Udupi, Kundapur and Karkala, were separated from Dakshina Kannada District to form Udupi district. Moodbidri was officially declared as new Taluk, seprated from Karkala with effect from January 11, 2018. The district headquarters are in the city of Udupi.

Khulna Titans Bangladesh cricket team

Khulna Titans are a franchise Twenty20 cricket team representing the Khulna division in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), a Twenty20 cricket tournament. The franchise is owned by Gemcon Sports and was founded in 2016 as a replacement for the Khulna Royal Bengals who had participated in the first two seasons of the BPL. The Titans use Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Sylhet International Cricket Stadium and Zohur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium for home games.

The city of Mangalore is often proclaimed as the gateway to Karnataka and lies nestled between the blue waters of the Arabian Sea and the green, towering hills of the Western Ghats. The 184 square km city is spread out over the backwaters of the two rivers, Netravati and Gurpura.

Ballari Tuskers also spelled as the Bellary Tuskers is a Karnataka Premier League Twenty20 Cricket franchise owned by with Arvind Venkatesh Reddy. Ballari Tuskers was bid in the 2014 auction conducted by KSCA The team won the 2016 Karnataka Premier League defeating Hubli Tigers.

The 2018 Everest Premier League, also known as EPL3 or 2018 TVS EPL because of the sponsorship reason, was the third edition of the Everest Premier League, a professional men's domestic Twenty20 cricket competition in Nepal. The tournament was held from 8 December 2018 to 22 December 2018. Biratnagar Warriors were defending champions for the tournament but they were eliminated in the group stage. Lalitpur Patriots won the 2018 season and it's their first title.
