Marco Fioravanti (born 18 March 1983 in Ascoli Piceno) is an Italian politician. [1]

Formerly member of centre-right party The People of Freedom, he joined Brothers of Italy in 2013. [1] He served as member of the City Council of Ascoli from 2009 to 2019. [1]

Fioravanti ran for Mayor of Ascoli Piceno at the 2019 local elections, supported by a Center-right coalition formed by Brothers of Italy, Lega Nord and local civic lists. [2] He won and took office on 11 June 2019. [1] [3]

Offida is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Ascoli Piceno in the Italian region Marche, located about 80 kilometres (50 mi) south of Ancona and about 12 kilometres (7 mi) northeast of Ascoli Piceno, on a rocky spur between the valleys of the Tesino and Tronto (south) rivers.

The Armed Revolutionary Nuclei, abbreviated NAR, was an Italian terrorist neo-fascist militant organization active during the Years of Lead from 1977 to November 1981. It committed 33 murders in four years, and had planned to assassinate Francesco Cossiga, Gianfranco Fini and Adolfo Urso. The group maintained close links with the Banda della Magliana, a Rome-based criminal organization, which provided such logistical support as lodging, false papers, weapons, and bombs to the NAR. In November 1981, it was discovered that the NAR hid weapons in the basements of the Health Ministry. The first trial against them sentenced 53 persons on 2 May 1985 on charges of terrorist activities.
