Margherita Della Valle (born 13 April 1965, Veneto) [1] is an Italian businesswoman who has been the chief executive officer (CEO) of Vodafone since January 2023. [2] [3] Della Valle was elected Chairman of 100 Group, [4] the association that brings together FTSE 100 CFOs. [5]

Early life

Della Valle was born and grew up in Veneto Region, Italy. [6]

Biography

Della Valle attended Lycée Albert Premier in Monaco. [1] She holds a master's degree in economics from Bocconi University. [7]

During her early career, Della Valle became part of Omnitel Pronto Italia, which transitioned to Vodafone Italy in 1994. [8] She started at the company as a marketing analyst. [9] She held the role of Chief Financial Officer for Vodafone Italy between 2004 and 2007. [8] [10]

Between 2015 and 2018, Della Valle served as Vodafone's Deputy Chief Financial Officer. [8] [10]

In April 2023, Della Valle was appointed as the CEO of Vodafone, becoming the first female CEO of the company. [7] Prior to officially assuming the role, Della Valle temporarily assumed the role in January 2023, succeeding Nick Read. [7] [11] [12]

In 2023, she ranked 42nd in Forbes list of "World's 100 most powerful women". [13]

She was ranked 36th on Fortune's list of Most Powerful Women in 2023. [14]

Personal Life

Della Valle is married and has two sons. She currently resides in London. [9]
