The London Borough of Southwark in South London forms part of Inner London and is connected by bridges across the River Thames to the City of London and the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. It was created in 1965 when three smaller council areas were amalgamated under the London Government Act 1963. All districts of the area are within the London postal district. It is governed by Southwark London Borough Council.
Camberwell was a civil parish and metropolitan borough in south London,England. Camberwell was an ancient parish in the county of Surrey,governed by an administrative vestry from 1674. The parish was included in the area of responsibility of the Metropolitan Board of Works in 1855 and became part of the County of London in 1889. The parish of Camberwell became a metropolitan borough in 1900,following the London Government Act 1899,with the parish vestry replaced by a borough council. Herne Hill is a district in south London,approximately four miles from Charing Cross and bordered by Brixton,Camberwell,Dulwich,and Tulse Hill. Harman had served for the previous constituency of Peckham since 1982. She is a former cabinet minister and the "Mother of the House of Commons",having the longest record of continuous service of any female MP.

Freda Corbet was a British Labour Party politician. Born in London,Corbet spent some time as a teacher in Cornwall before moving back to London to work with her husband in his shop. The couple were both members of the Independent Labour Party and were elected as councillors on London County Council in 1934. There she served on the education committee,helping to introduce comprehensive schools to the city.

Peter Timothy Fortune is a British Conservative Party politician who has served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Bromley and Biggin Hill since the 2024 general election. He previously served as the member of the London Assembly (AM) for Bexley and Bromley from 2021 to 2024.
The 2022 Bromley London Borough Council election took place on 5 May 2022. All 58 members of Bromley London Borough Council were elected. The elections took place alongside local elections in the other London boroughs and elections to local authorities across the United Kingdom.
