Marinobacterium is a genus of bacteria found in sea water. [2] [3] The cells are rod-shaped and are motile by using one polar flagellum. S.I. Paul et al. (2021) [3] isolated, characterized and identified two species of Marinobacterium ( Marinobacterium coralli, Marinobacterium maritimum ) from marine sponges of the Saint Martin's Island Area of the Bay of Bengal, Bangladesh. [3]

Oceanobacillus profundus was isolated from the surface of a sediment core sample of the Tsushima Basin of the Sea of Japan, Korea, and from marine sponge of Saint Martin's island of the Bay of Bengal, Bangladesh. The type strain is CL-MP28T. Sponge associated Oceanobacillus profundus strain CS 9 was highly salt tolarent.
