Martin Nyaga Wambora (born 9 April 1951) is a Kenyan politician. He is the first governor of Embu County in Kenya [1] after winning on a TNA (The National Alliance) ticket in the Embu gubernatorial elections which was conducted in March 2013. He would later become the first Governor in Kenya to be impeached,not once but twice but he successfully challenged the impeachment later and was overwhelmingly Re-elected in 2017 winning his 2nd term in office. He was a former member of parliament for Runyenjes Constituency from 2003 to 2007. Prior to becoming the governor of Embu County,he served as the chairman of the board of Kenya Airports Authority and led to its winning of the two most prestigious airport industry awards in 2011.
He went to Muragari Primary School in Mukuuri (Runyenjes). He holds an MBA from the University of Hartford (US),a postgraduate diploma in public management and rural development from the University of Connecticut (US),and a B.Sc. in political science from the Makerere University. [2]
He served as a district officer between 1976 and 1984 under the former Ministry of State for Provincial Administration and Internal Security. [1] #WTC Later on he became District Commissioner in Baringo and Laikipia which later led him to become deputy to District Commissioner of Rift Valley province. Wambora was elected as the Member of Parliament for Runyenjes Constituency in 2003. In the year 2013,Wambora became the first Governor for Embu County after he won the election. Martin Wambora was re-elected as the Governor of Embu County in 2017. [3]
He is the first Kenyan governor to be impeached in a highly disputed and political process,this was a decision that was made by the Kenyan senate. [4] [5] 39 senators voted yes,1 senator voted no,and 1 abstained from voting during a motion that was conducted to ascertain whether the five Embu County assembly's allegations were right. The decision was challenged in court. There were also revelations that a politician from the Mbeere side of the county bribed MCAs with a trip to Mombasa,to plan for the impeachment. [6] The Governor has been termed as Governor with nine lives. This is because the county assembly unsuccessfully tried to impeach him four times in 2014,with him each time successfully challenging the decision. [7]
Kerugoya court has reinstated ousted Embu governor Wambora as of April 16,2014,after declaring his impeachment null and void. The judges stated that,“had the Senate investigated Wambora's case,it would discover it was done in violation of the court order in the County Assembly.” [8]
Wambora,who is widely regarded as the governor with the proverbial nine lives,was reelected Embu Governor for the second term on August 8,2017. He garnered 97,544 votes against Lenny Kivuti's 96,597 while Kithinji Kiragu (PNU) emerged third with 50,590,with only one polling station not tallied.
Former Transport Principal Secretary Cyrus Njiru was a distant fourth with 2,344,followed by Leonard Muriuki (Narc Kenya,2,313) and Dr Njagi Kumantha (939 votes).
Wambora,the Jubilee Party candidate,won by a huge margin in Runyenjes,attaining 53,345 votes against Kivuti's 9,048;and repeated the feat in Manyatta by scoring 32,403 while the outgoing senator had 14,835.
His election was nullified in Embu High Court on 22 February 2018. The high court judge ordered for a fresh election. The matter proceeded to the Court of Appeal which upheld Governor Martin Wambora's election. Lenny Kivuti appealed that ruling to the Supreme Court of Kenya which also upheld Governor Martin Wambora's election.

Mûkûûrî is an administrative Location and township in Runyenjes Division,in Embu County,Kenya,with a population of about 25,000 people. It is named for a large,strong Sycamore Fig Tree that stood for over 100 years at the current site of the township. The Sycamore Fig tree symbolizes strength,rejuvenation and regeneration. Mûkûû-rîregion lies on the green,rolling hills of the Mount Kenya slopes. The administrative region begins from the stone cliffs of Nthûngûwaterfalls,all the way to Nthenge Njerûfalls,through the famous Kirimiri Forest,stretching to the historic Gogo Salt lick,bordering Gitare. It is home to four public primary schools,including Kubu Kubu Memorial Boarding School and Muragari School,which is among the oldest schools in Embu and Kîrînyaga districts.

Kerugoya is the biggest town in Kirinyaga County,located 10 kilometres east of Karatina and 40 kilometres west of Embu. It is situated in the former Kirinyaga district. Travel directions by road from Nairobi is through Thika Road past Thika,Kenol and Makuyu. The road leads through Makutano until Sagana town,where a road branches off the East towards Kagio town up to Kirinyaga University branching North towards the town.

Mbuvi Gideon Kioko, popularly known as Mike Sonko or simply Sonko,is a controversial Kenyan politician who served as the second Governor of Nairobi. He was removed from the office of the governor by a form of impeachment by the Senate of the Republic of Kenya on Abuse of Office,Gross Misconduct and Crimes under National Law on 17 December 2020.

He was minister for the Co-operative Development and Marketing in Kenya and a former member of parliament for the Manyatta Constituency and Runyenjes Constituency. He was member of parliament for the Manyatta Constituency which is now in Embu County on Party of National Unity ticket between 2002 and 2007. Prior to this,he was the member of parliament for Runyenjes Constituency between 1992 and 1997 and then the member of parliament for the newly created Manyatta Constituency between 1998 and 2001.
Sub-counties,also known as Districts,are the decentralised units through which government of Kenya provides functions and services. At national level,sub-counties take a more administrative function like security,statistical purposes,provision of government services,etc. Even though the sub-counties are divisions of counties,powers to create new national sub-counties lies with the national government. As of 2023,there are 314 sub-counties,compared to 290 constituencies. A deputy county commissioner is appointed by the state to lead each sub-county. The sub-counties are further divided into divisions,locations and sub-locations.
Local elections were held in Embu to elect a Governor and County Assembly on 4 March 2013. Under the new constitution,which was passed in a 2010 referendum,the 2013 general elections were the first in which Governors and members of the County Assemblies for the newly created counties were elected. They will also be the first general elections run by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission(IEBC) which has released the official list of candidates.

Ochilo George Mbogo Ayacko is a Kenyan politician who has served as the governor of Migori County since August 2022.
Eric Muchangi Njiru Karemba is a Kenyan politician and a businessman,and currently the Member of Parliament (MNA) for Runyenjes Constituency,serving a second term and also the Chairman of the Labour and Social Affairs committee. Runyenjes is in Embu County in Eastern part of Kenya. Karemba belongs to the United Democratic Alliance party under the Kenya Kwanza alliance led by the current and the fifth president of Kenya Dr William Ruto. He is a graduate of Kenyatta university with a Bachelors of Education and was a student leader at the same university. Karemba made history by becoming the first Akorino MP in the history of Kenya. Karemba currently serves as the Chairman of the Labor and Social Affairs Committee of the National Assembly.
