Martin de Vries (born 7 April 1960) is a Dutch former professional basketball player. [1] After playing eight seasons for Donar, his jersey number 10 was retired by the club.

De Vries started playing for Donar in 1979, at age 19. From 1983 to 1986, he played for BV Orca's and Hatrans Haaksbergen. [2]

He also played 27 games for the Netherlands men's national basketball team. [3]

From 2013 to 2022, De Vries was the technical director of Donar. [4]

The 2017–18 Dutch Basketball League (DBL) was the 58th season of the Dutch Basketball League, the highest professional basketball league in the Netherlands. The regular season started on 7 October 2017 and ended 21 April 2018. Donar is the defending champion. The playoffs started on 1 May and ended 29 May 2018. Donar captured its seventh championship, its third in a row and fourth in fifth years, after defeating ZZ Leiden in the finals.

Willem Brandwijk is a Dutch basketball player for Donar of the BNXT League. He spent his college career at IUP Crimson Hawks men's basketball and Siena Saints men's basketball. Standing at 2.06 m, he has also been a member of the Netherlands national basketball team.

The 2020–21 Donar season was the 49th season in the existence of the club. The club will play in the Dutch Basketball League (DBL) and Basketball Cup. It was the first season under head coach Ivan Rudež who was fired in April 2021 after disappointing results. He was replaced by Pete Miller. The season ended in more disappointment for Donar, as the team was eliminated early in the 2021 DBL Cup by Yoast United, and later in the playoffs semifinals by Heroes Den Bosch. This season was the first time since 2013 that Donar did not play in the DBL Finals.
