Marzuke bin Haji Mohsin is a Bruneian politician, civil servant and architect who served as the fifth Deputy Minister of Development (MoD) from 2018 to 2022. Additionally, he is a council member of Universiti Teknologi Brunei, [1] chairman of Safety, Health and Environment National Authority, [2] and an architect at Eco Bumi Partners. [3]
Marzuke graduated with honours from Leeds Polytechnic in 1985 with a Bachelor of Arts in architecture and from North London Polytechnic in 1990 with a Post Graduate Diploma in architecture. He has been a Corporate Expert of Pertubuhan Ukur Jurutera & Arkitek (PUJA) since 1993 and a Chartered Member of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). In 2005, he resumed his studies at Universiti Brunei Darussalam, where he pursued an Master of Business Administration. [4]
In 1985, Marzuke started working for the Public Works Department (JKR) as an architect. In 1994, he was moved to senior architect, and the following year, he was elevated to executive architect. In 2001, he was promoted to Assistant Director of Development, and in 2005, he was appointed Director of Development. He was named Head of JKR in 2012 after serving as Director of Housing Development Department (JKP) from 2009 to 2011. On 10 March 2014, he was named Deputy Permanent Secretary of the MoD. [4]
Marzuke was named the Deputy Minister of Development on 10 August 2018, and on 2 October, there was an oath-taking ceremony in the Istana Nurul Iman. [5] Later at the 21st Ministry-Level QCC Convention, Marzuke pushed for the expansion of the Quality Control Circle (QCC) Convention approach to all departments within the Ministry of Development in order to enhance public services on 29 August. [6] During the Cosmopolitan College of Commerce and Technology's 12th Convocation Ceremony on 28 November, he stressed the importance of graduates as major forces behind nation-building and urged them to make use of their knowledge, be creative, and contribute to society while carrying out Islamic ideals. [7]
First Regional Faraday Challenge 2019 and Asia Pacific Community Volunteer Conference (AP-CVC) 2019 were organised by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) Brunei Darussalam Local Network on 5 October 2019, at the Aman Hills Hotel, which he formally opened. [8]
Marzuke oversaw the foundation laying of the 15.4189-acre Sultan Hassan Secondary School in Kampong Batu Apoi in July 2021. [9] He led the Brunei delegation at the ASEAN–China High Ranking Forum on Green and Sustainable Development, which was conducted by video conference from 24 to 26 October 2021. [10]
During the Operational Document Taskforce Workshop for the Brunei Darussalam National Climate Change Policy (BNCCP) on Waste Management, Marzuke stressed the significance of addressing Brunei's increasing waste generation through an integrated action plan, with a focus on waste minimisation, waste-to-energy technologies, and raising public awareness. [11] In March 2022, he stressed that in order to improve public services and expedite decision-making in land development and building projects, government agencies, particularly those under the MoD, must embrace data-sharing of geospatial information. [12]

Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni Hassanal Bolkiah is the eldest son of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah and his wife Queen Saleha. He is the Crown Prince of Brunei Darussalam, and is first in the line of succession to the Bruneian throne. Pengiran Anak Mohamed Alam was a nobleman, magistrate, and politician who served as the fourth Speaker of the Legislative Council from 1971 to 1974, and as the Chief of Adat Istiadat Negara from 1954 to 1981. A member of the Bruneian royal family, he was the father of Pengiran Anak Saleha, the queen consort of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah. He was also the maternal grandfather of Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince of Brunei.
Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin is a Bruneian politician who currently serves as the Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism (MPRT) since 2022. Additionally, he formerly held the position of Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy from 2018 to 2022, and chairman of Royal Brunei Airlines from 2021 to 2023.
Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh is a Bruneian teacher and education officer that is currently the Minister of Education (MoE) since 2022, the Chairperson of Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) Council members, Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), and Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University (UNISSA). She previously held the position of Deputy minister and Acting Minister of the same Ministry in 2018.
Pengiran Anak Kemaluddin was a nobleman, politician and teacher from Brunei who served as the sixth Speaker of the Legislative Council of Brunei (LegCo), Member of the Privy Council, and the head of the Department of Religious Affairs. He was the founder of several Arabic schools. The institutions included the Seri Begawan Religious Teachers College, the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit Girls' Secondary Arabic Religious School, and the Hassanal Bolkiah Boys' Arabic Secondary School.
Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman is the incumbent Minister of Home Affairs (MOHA) in Brunei since 2022, the former Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy (MoFE), and the chairman of both Royal Brunei Technical Services (RBTS) and Brunei Darussalam Central Bank (BDCB). In addition to serving on a number of government committees dealing with ease of doing business, corporatisation and public–private partnerships, manpower planning and employment, FDIs and downstream industries, and sukuk management, Dato Ahmaddin currently sits on the boards of government-linked companies in a variety of sectors, including banking, medical, oil and gas, logistics, and real estate.
Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong is a Bruneian aristocrat and politician whom formerly held the position of Minister of Health (MOH) from 1998 to 2005, Minister of Communications (MOC) from 2005 to 2010, Minister of Education (MOE) from 2010 to 2015, and Minister of Home Affairs (MOHA) from 2015 to 2022. He had served in the government for the second-longest period of time after Pehin Isa Ibrahim.

Ahmad bin Haji Jumat is a Bruneian aristocrat, civil servant and politician who is the current representative of Brunei Darussalam to the ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR). He formerly held the position of Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) from 2010 to 2008, Minister of Industry and Primary Resources (MIPR) from 2005 to 2008, and Minister of Development (MoD) from 2002 to 2008.
Ahmad bin Haji Isa is a Bruneian lawyer who is the incumbent eighth Attorney General of Brunei from 2020 to 2024. He practices in the fields of criminal prosecution and defense work, aviation, international law, business and commercial law, banking, real estate, joint ventures, and intellectual property. He is also the chairman of the International School Brunei (ISB) Board of Directors, the director of AEGIS Secure Solutions, and member of the Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) council. In November 2022, he was appointed Vice President of the Brunei Darussalam Swimming Association (BDSA).
Suhaimi bin Haji Gafar is a Bruneian politician and civil engineer who formerly served as the seventh Minister of Development from 2018 to 2022, and also the Deputy Minister from 2015 to 2018.
Pengiran Muhammad Salleh bin Pengiran Anak Haji Muhammad was a Bruneian nobleman, religious figure and politician who formerly held several high-ranking positions which included being a member of the State Council, Privy Council, Legislative Council, and the Chief Kadi. He spent practically his whole life fighting for the advancement of Islam and was well-known for being one of the nation's top religious activists.
Mohd Riza bin Haji Mohd Yunos (born May 1967) is a politician and civil servant from Brunei who is the incumbent Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) since 2022. Additionally, he is also the deputy chairman of Royal Brunei Airlines (RBA), and among the directors of Darussalam Assets.
Sufian bin Haji Sabtu is a politician and civil servant from Brunei who is the incumbent Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) since 2022, and the director Internal Security Department (ISD) since 2020. Additionally, he is also the chairman of Safety, Health and Environment National Authority (SHENA).
Nor Hashimah binti Haji Mohammed Taib is a Bruneian lawyer who is the incumbent ninth Attorney General of Brunei since 2024, replacing Ahmad Isa.
Muhammad Juanda bin Haji Abdul Rashid is a Bruneian politician and civil servant became the current Minister of Development since 2022. Pengiran Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar is a politician and educator from Brunei who served as the country's Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs twice, from 2010 to 2015 and from 2018 to 2022, as well as Deputy Minister of Education from 2015 to 2018. Additionally, he was the deputy chairman of Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College, Institut Tahfiz Al-Quran Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah in c. 2013 and a member of Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Foundation's board of directors from 2021 to 2023.
Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman is a Bruneian ichthyologist and professor, currently serving as the vice-chancellor of Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB). In 2006, she discovered three new species of Gastromyzon fish in the Temburong River: Gastromyzon aeroides, Gastromyzon cranbrooki, and Gastromyzon venustus. Her research focuses on molecular genetics and biodiversity, with significant contributions to ichthyology, including the identification of new fish and mussel species. Additionally, she holds patents related to biodiesel production from local paddy varieties.
