The Most Honourable Order of Seri Paduka Mahkota Brunei [1] (Malay : Darjah Seri Paduka Mahkota Brunei Yang Amat Mulia), also translated as The Most Honourable Order of the Crown of Brunei, [2] is an order of Brunei Darussalam. It was established on 1 March 1954 by Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien III. [2]

Description

The majority of the state crest is shown on the collar chain's front and back, and two of the crowns are arranged in an octagonal shape of black enamel. In the other links, a portion of the state crest is shown significantly differently with white crescent moons, crossed kris, and crossed flags. [3] The first class included a 62 millimetres (2.4 in) silver-gilt, silver-and-enamel neck badge; an 87 millimetres (3.4 in) silver-gilt, silver-and-enamel star with a maker's cartouche on the reverse in excellent condition; neck ribands; and a fitted box of issuance. [4]

This order was established to honor those who have helped the Sultan in exceptional or significant ways. [3]

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Pengiran Anak Mohamed Alam</span> Bruneian legislative speaker (1918–1982)

Pengiran Anak Mohamed Alam was a nobleman, magistrate, and politician who served as the fourth Speaker of the Legislative Council from 1971 to 1974, and as the Chief of Adat Istiadat Negara from 1954 to 1981. A member of the Bruneian royal family, he was the father of Pengiran Anak Saleha, the queen consort of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah. He was also the maternal grandfather of Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince of Brunei.

The Sultan Omar 'Ali Saifuddien College (SOASC), natively known as Maktab Sultan Omar 'Ali Saifuddien (MSOAS), is a government boys' secondary school in Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital of Brunei. It is the first English secondary school in the country. The school is also one of the only three boys' secondary schools nationwide, with the other two being Muda Hashim Secondary School and Ma'had Islam Brunei. The school provides five years of secondary education leading up to GCE 'O' Level and IGCSE qualification.

Isa bin Haji Ibrahim is a Bruneian aristocrat and politician, currently serving as Special Adviser to His Majesty the Sultan and Minister at the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) since January 2018. His distinguished career began in 1962, when he started as an assistant legal adviser, later becoming Deputy Menteri Besar of Brunei and General Adviser to the Sultan. <span class="mw-page-title-main">Pengiran Anak Abdul Aziz</span> Bruneian prince (born 1945)

Pengiran Anak Abdul Aziz is a nobleman and formerly a police officer from Brunei who previously served as the Controller of the Royal Customs and Excise of Brunei, member of the Royal Succession Council, member of the Royal Council, and the Chief of Jabatan Adat Istiadat Negara. He was one of the concept contributors for the change in the name of the Police Force to the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) as a Royal Dignitary, a State Dignitary, and a Member of Councils. Notably, he also made changes to the flag, the pattern, and the uniform color of the department's officers and staffs during his tenure as the Controller of the Royal Customs and Excise.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Pengiran Ibnu Basit</span> Bruneian military officer and politician (born 1942)

Pengiran Ibnu Basit bin Pengiran Haji Apong, also known as Pengiran Ibnu Ba'asith, is a nobleman, soldier and politician in the Government of Brunei whole formerly took office as the Deputy Minister of Defence from 1986 to 2005, and the first local officer to be the commanding officer of the Boat Sections of the Boats Section AMDB from 1965 to 1966.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Pengiran Abdul Momin (born 1923)</span> Bruneian diplomat and politician (1923–2006)

Pengiran Abdul Momin bin Pengiran Othman was a nobleman, diplomat and politician in the Government of Brunei who took office as the Ambassador of Brunei to Indonesia from 1993 to 2001. Additionally, he was a member of the Privy Council, Legislative Council, Islamic Legislative Council and Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Foundation from 1992 to 2004.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Pengiran Mokhtar Puteh</span> Bruneian nobility (1929–2016)

Pengiran Mokhtar Puteh bin Pengiran Rajid or also spelled Mokhtar Putih, was a nobleman and a civil servant from Brunei who served in several high-ranking positions which included being a member of the Privy Council and vice-president of the Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Council. He was known for his active involvement in charitable work and sport activities throughout his life.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Pengiran Anak Idris</span> Bruneian prince (born 1948)

Pengiran Anak Idris is a Bruneian nobleman and member of the royal family who became the prince consort to Princess Amal Umi Kalthum Al-Islam in 1972, the daughter of Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien III. He is the current Chief of Jabatan Adat Istiadat Negara, a member of the Privy Council of Brunei, and assistant chairman of Adat Istiadat Council, and Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah's board of governors.

<i>Jabatan Adat Istiadat Negara</i> Department in charge of customs and ceremonies of Brunei

The Jabatan Adat Istiadat Negara is a government department under the Prime Minister's Office that functions to guarantee the constant maintenance of Royal Customs. It has been translated literally as the Office of State Customs, the Department of the State Customs or the State Department of Customs and Traditions, even though it does not have an English name. In order to guarantee that the practice and implementation, particularly the Istiadat Diraja, are always in accordance with the philosophy of Melayu Islam Beraja, preaching and teaching the public through lectures, briefings, and workshops on Adat Istiadat (Customs) are regularly held.
