The Most Gallant Order of Pahlawan Negara Brunei [1] (Malay : Darjah Pahlawan Negara Brunei Yang Amat Perkasa), also translated as The Most Gallant Order of the Hero of the State of Brunei, [2] is an order of Brunei. It was established on 28 November 1959 by Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien III. [2]

Description

In the numerous links of the collar, crossed daggers, swords, tridents, and arrows are created in a military-appropriate fashion. Red, green, and white enamel is used to embellish each of these emblems. [3] The first class's items included a collar chain that measured about 920 millimetres (36 in) and had 16 medallions on it, including two crossed sabres, two crossed tridents, and two crossed lances. There were also eight smaller medallions of crossed daggers with different designs made of silver, gilt, and enamel; an adornment or sash badge measuring 65 millimetres (2.6 in) and a star measuring 88 millimetres (3.5 in) that was made of silver, gilt, and enamel, with a sash riband. The orders, decorations, and medals of Brunei consist of Bintang-Bintang Kebesaran and Pingat-Pingat Kehormatan. Both are awarded by the Sultan of Brunei on the basis of merit, especially on the contributions to the country. The investiture of some of the state decorations also include the conferment of titles, whereby they become part of the awardees' personal names in official correspondence or when mentioned in formal media in the country. The decorations and medals are under the responsibility of Jabatan Adat Istiadat Negara, a government department under the Prime Minister's Office, which also oversees Bruneian royal traditions and protocol.

<i>Jabatan Adat Istiadat Negara</i> Department in charge of customs and ceremonies of Brunei

The Jabatan Adat Istiadat Negara is a government department under the Prime Minister's Office that functions to guarantee the constant maintenance of Royal Customs. It has been translated literally as the Office of State Customs, the Department of the State Customs or the State Department of Customs and Traditions, even though it does not have an English name. In order to guarantee that the practice and implementation, particularly the Istiadat Diraja, are always in accordance with the philosophy of Melayu Islam Beraja, preaching and teaching the public through lectures, briefings, and workshops on Adat Istiadat (Customs) are regularly held.
