The Ministry of Finance and Economy (MoFE; Malay : Kementerian Kewangan dan Ekonomi) is a cabinet-level ministry in the government of Brunei which is responsible for the monetary, fiscal and economic policies and development in the country. It was established immediately upon Brunei's independence on 1 January 1984. [3] It is currently led by a minister in which the incumbent is Hassanal Bolkiah, the Sultan of Brunei, as well as a second minister and two deputy ministers.

Pengiran Anak Mohamed Alam was a nobleman, magistrate, and politician who served as the fourth Speaker of the Legislative Council from 1971 to 1974, and as the Chief of Adat Istiadat Negara from 1954 to 1981. A member of the Bruneian royal family, he was the father of Pengiran Anak Saleha, the queen consort of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah. He was also the maternal grandfather of Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince of Brunei.

The Ministry of Defence Brunei Darussalam, officially abbreviated as MinDef, is a cabinet-level ministry of the Government of Brunei. It is responsible for the national security and its military forces within the sultanate of Brunei Darussalam; the latter collectively known as the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF); Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei, (ABDB). The Istana Darussalam is the former residence of Omar Ali Saifuddien III and birthplace of Sultan of Brunei, Hassanal Bolkiah. The palace is located at Jalan Darussalam, Kampong Sumbiling Lama, Brunei–Muara District, Brunei. The building has become a tourist attraction and currently under the protection of the Antiquities and Treasure Trove Act of the Museums Department.

Pengiran Anak Kemaluddin was a nobleman, politician and teacher from Brunei who served as the sixth Speaker of the Legislative Council of Brunei (LegCo), Member of the Privy Council, and the head of the Department of Religious Affairs. He was the founder of several Arabic schools. The institutions included the Seri Begawan Religious Teachers College, the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit Girls' Secondary Arabic Religious School, and the Hassanal Bolkiah Boys' Arabic Secondary School.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Ahmaddin Abdul Rahman</span> Bruneian politician (born 1972)

Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman is the incumbent Minister of Home Affairs (MOHA) in Brunei since 2022, the former Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy (MoFE), and the chairman of both Royal Brunei Technical Services (RBTS) and Brunei Darussalam Central Bank (BDCB). In addition to serving on a number of government committees dealing with ease of doing business, corporatisation and public–private partnerships, manpower planning and employment, FDIs and downstream industries, and sukuk management, Dato Ahmaddin currently sits on the boards of government-linked companies in a variety of sectors, including banking, medical, oil and gas, logistics, and real estate.

Pengiran Abu Bakar bin Pengiran Umar was a Bruneian nobleman, civil servant, and politician who served as the fifth Speaker of the Legislative Council of Brunei. He held this position from 1 December 1974 until his retirement on 14 December 1981. Notably, he was the father-in-law of Princess Masna Bolkiah. His son, Pengiran Anak Abdul Aziz, became the prince consort of Princess Masna Bolkiah, who is the daughter of Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien III.

Pengiran Muda Hashim was a Bruneian nobleman and politician who held several significant positions, including membership in the Privy Council, Legislative Council, and the Brunei Islamic Religious Council. As a member of the Bruneian royal family, he was the husband to Pengiran Anak Puteri (Princess) Besar, the daughter of Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam II. He was named Wazir in 1952 and served on the executive committee for the coronation ceremony of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, acting as Sultan during the late Sultan's foreign tours.

<i>Jabatan Adat Istiadat Negara</i> Department in charge of customs and ceremonies of Brunei

The Jabatan Adat Istiadat Negara is a government department under the Prime Minister's Office that functions to guarantee the constant maintenance of Royal Customs. It has been translated literally as the Office of State Customs, the Department of the State Customs or the State Department of Customs and Traditions, even though it does not have an English name. In order to guarantee that the practice and implementation, particularly the Istiadat Diraja, are always in accordance with the philosophy of Melayu Islam Beraja, preaching and teaching the public through lectures, briefings, and workshops on Adat Istiadat (Customs) are regularly held.

Pengiran Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar is a politician and educator from Brunei who served as the country's Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs twice, from 2010 to 2015 and from 2018 to 2022, as well as Deputy Minister of Education from 2015 to 2018. Additionally, he was the deputy chairman of Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College, Institut Tahfiz Al-Quran Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah in c. 2013 and a member of Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Foundation's board of directors from 2021 to 2023.
