Matthew Walter Forde (born 29 April 2002) is a Barbadian cricketer. [1] He plays for St Lucia Kings in the Caribbean Premier League and for Dambulla Aura in the Lanka Premier League.
He made his T20 debut on 1 September 2022 for St Lucia Kings against Trinbago Knight Riders in the 2022 Caribbean Premier League. [2] He made his List A debut on 31 October 2022 for Combined Campuses and Colleges against Trinidad and Tobago. [3]
He was signed by Dambulla Aura for the 2022 Lanka Premier League. On 19 December 2022,he scored his first fifty in his T20 career during 2022 LPL season in a do-or-die contest for Dambulla Aura who were in brink of elimination. [4] He produced an all-round performance both with the bat and ball against Galle Gladiators with a spell of 4/11 in 4 overs coupled with a 30 ball 52 which helped Dambulla Aura to win comfortably against Galle Gladiators. [5] Despite his valiant efforts,Dambulla missed out on playoff qualification after failing to chase 130 runs within 11 overs.
On 9 December 2023,Forde made his one-day international debut for West Indies against England at Bridgetown,Barbados. [6] He picked up 3 wickets for 29 runs off his 8 overs,scored 13 not out in a match-winning partnership with Romario Shepherd,and won the Player Of The Match award. [7] [8]

Dambulla Viiking is a franchise cricket team which competed in the inaugural season of Lanka Premier League (LPL). For the 2020 season,the team was captained by Dasun Shanaka and coached by Owais Shah. Based in Dambulla,Central Province,Sri Lanka,the team is owned by Bollywood film actor and producer Sachiin J. Joshi. In the inaugural season,it changed its name from Dambulla Hawks to Dambulla Lions, and ten days later again changed its name to Dambulla Viiking.
The 2022 Lanka Premier League also known as Mazaplay LPL T20,for sponsorship reasons,was the third edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) Twenty20 franchise cricket tournament in Sri Lanka. It was originally scheduled to take place from 31 July to 21 August 2022 with Sri Lanka Cricket initially having promised to conduct LPL tournament targeting the August window. The ODI series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka were scrapped due to the hosting of this tournament. However,in July 2022,the tournament was postponed due to the economic crisis in Sri Lanka,with the aim to play it later in 2022. The tournament was later rescheduled and held from 6 to 23 December 2022. The tournament also emphasized to promote and boost both the economy and international tourism.
