Brandon Alexander King (born 16 December 1994) is a Jamaican cricketer. He was part of the West Indies' squad for the 2014 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He made his international debut for the West Indies cricket team in November 2019. [1]
King plays for Jamaica in domestic cricket,debuting in first-class cricket in the 2014-15 Regional Four Day Competition,and List A cricket in the 2015-16 Regional Super50. He was selected in the 9th round of the 2017 CPL player draft by the St Kitts &Nevis Patriots. [2] He made his Twenty20 debut for St Kitts &Nevis Patriots in the 2017 Caribbean Premier League on 5 August 2017. [3]
In June 2018,King was named in the Cricket West Indies B Team squad for the inaugural edition of the Global T20 Canada tournament. [4]
King hit 132 not out,the highest innings in CPL history,consisting of 10 fours and 11 sixes in a 72-ball knock against Barbados Tridents at Providence on 6 October 2019 as Guyana Amazon Warriors qualified for the final of the 2019 Caribbean Premier League. [5] In July 2020,he was named in the Guyana Amazon Warriors squad for the 2020 Caribbean Premier League. [6] [7] On 1 September 2020,King scored his 1,000th run in Twenty20 cricket. [8]
In October 2019,King was named in the West Indies' One Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 International (T20I) squads for their series against Afghanistan in India. [9] He made his ODI debut for the West Indies,against Afghanistan,on 11 November 2019. [10] He made his T20I debut for the West Indies,also against Afghanistan,on 14 November 2019. [11]
In May 2024,he was named in the West Indies squad for the 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup tournament. [12]
Rayad Ryan Emrit is a West Indian cricketer. Emrit has represented the West Indies Senior team,making his first ODI appearance just a year after his regional debut in 2007. Emrit maintained discipline and motivation and defied the odds to be next selected for the West Indies T20 Champion team in 2018 against New Zealand. Emrit was selected as captain of the Patriots ahead of Chris Gayle and Dwayne Bravo as captain in the 'biggest party in sport' CPL in 2021.
Gajanand Singh is a Guyanese-American cricketer who plays for the United States national cricket team. He previously represented the West Indies under-19 cricket team at the 2006 U-19 Cricket World Cup in Sri Lanka and played first-class and List A cricket for Guyana.
Johnson Charles is a St Lucian international cricketer who plays for the West Indies. As a wicket-keeper-batsman,Charles started his ODI career against Australia in March 2012. His first T20I came against England in September 2011,and he became just the second cricketer from the island of St Lucia to play for the West Indies. Johnson was included in the West Indies' 15-man squad for the 2012 ICC World Twenty20 held in September and October that year,where the team won the tournament. The 2020 Caribbean Premier League (CPLT20) or for sponsorship reasons,Hero CPL 2020 was the eighth season of the Caribbean Premier League,the domestic Twenty20 cricket league played in the West Indies. All matches were played in Trinidad and Tobago. The tournament started on 18 August and ended on 10 September 2020. On 10 July 2020,the local government gave its approval for the tournament to go ahead,with all the matches taking place at two venues behind closed doors. The full schedule for the tournament was confirmed on 27 July 2020. On 6 August 2020,an official press release stated that all players,officials and administrators involved in the league had tested negative on arrival ahead of a two weeks quarantine period.
